Good review Lee! Nice to see the draw bias drivers being reveiwed! Instead of all the you tube pros saying I’m not going to review that as it’s not for me!! 😂
@banditbaker16752 жыл бұрын
I must admit that it annoys me that most Reviewers don't test the Draw biased driver options (because it doesn't suit their swing), even though the majority of Golfers actually need the driver that isn't being tested! So RESPECT for testing what the Golfing community needs👍👍 Personally, I thought that the SIM & SIM2 were far too flashy and I prefer the Stealth because it is relatively understated. So as you say, "it's all down to personal taste".

Just a heads up everyone. I got my stealth today and do not use plastic tees in a indoor sim. It does make small tee head dents in the face.

Lee, late comment, but really appreciate the review as others have said. I'm a mid handicap, draw 6 iron down.... but the moment I get beyond a 5 wood in length, I'm left to right and the big slice creeps in too often. I sometimes feel like I'm alone in the demographic of people who want to play golf semi-competitively but struggle with the right side. So helpful to have you do these reviews. Even when others do it, they just hook balls and say how it's not meant for them. Thanks again!

So refreshing to see someone focussing on getting it in the fairway and sacrificing the massive length. Like the look of Dartmouth GC too

So true that nobody reviews the draw version. I’ve never used a draw driver currently use f9 cobra but tend to go right just bought a sim 2 max d and I’m finding that even if I do go right it’s only just in the rough not the trees like my cobra

Great to see the draw biased version reviewed as someone who tends to lose the ball right more often than not. Need to get myself a test of both the stealth and the new rogue I think. Hope the new job goes ok too 👍

I actually tested the Stealth HD this weekend on 2 different rounds. I have my order in, I really enjoyed the results. I have never had a top-tier Driver but the gains in the distance are a major factor for me. The fact that I only sliced 2 balls all weekend with the HD drastically improved from my regular game. Can't wait for my HD to arrive.

Thanks, Lee! Seems most everyone is reviewing the tour player version of everything, because they are Pros. Truth is that their testing for 0.01% of the population. The rest of us are just regular Joe's! We need clubs that suit the game of regular Joe's. Well Done!!! 👌

Nice review there lee. I agree this is the club a fair few golfers would go for, I know I would as I'm a "overhappy" fader with the driver so this would probably suit me. Think these sort of clubs should get more reviews.

Great review because you went into it very unbiased even though you love your sim2 when Shiels compared it to his driver from the beginning he kept saying I don't feel confident and we all know that lowers your chance of hitting a good shot. The famous eagle by Lee in the trees golf?😁

Agree on the draw bias being a good fit for most. Mizuno ST-X for me. Just hit it better than the ST-Z which is the non draw version when i got fitted. Doesn't spin up too much either
@danielcohen31592 жыл бұрын
Great job, Lee! I've been hoping someone would test these two. Most reviewers ignore the D-type drivers, and head straight for the "pro" type, smaller head, low spin drivers, which is a shame. So it's good to see this. Would love some LM data, but I have a feeling there wouldn't be that much to separate them, really. I hit the regular Stealth and it didn't impress me, really. It was fine! But I'm going to try the new Callaways before I probably go right back to my good ole M6.
@barryemery162 жыл бұрын
My G10 was supposedly a draw bias, somehow I still managed the occasional power fade, ok slice, my G400 Max isn’t draw bias and to be honest, there doesn’t seem to be much of a change in direction, it depends on what swing I manage, I now disregard all claims of anti slice or draw bias claims, it really is how high you tee it up, what degree you are using and how you hit it, that’s what determines the direction, ball flight etc.
@LWG2 жыл бұрын
It won’t cure a slice as I said in review the word draw is probably not right as too many people expect a complete shot shape change.
@MrAnders10002 жыл бұрын
Best of luck tomorrow Lee Really happy for you 💪💪💪 I tried both the new callaway and the stealth and personally I think the stealth sounds horrible and looks very bad. It is forgiving but not as forgiving as the new callaway. I get what you mean about the look but I personally don't like the look of the sim2 so maby why I prefare the stealth. The new cobra is probably the best looking driver that comes out so far. Or maby the new rogue but it's a hard choice between them🤣 haven't tried the new cobra yet so looking forward to that. I don't use a draw driver and all of last year I was missing left so I been working on hitting fades and now I am missing right instead 🤣 I think a coach session is what I need rather then a new driver but new shiny stuff is always fun

The major obstacle for me with any new driver is cost - and the Stealth is no exception. It'll be interesting to see how many of the Taylor Made guys on the tours stick with the new club, or if they revert back to one of the older drivers.

Your both so right i had the sim 2 max and my bad shots were a fade / slice which kills my game like most other golfers. I went for a fitting this week and tried the stealth, rogue and cobra all standard heads which i kept finding were fade biased for my swing. The fitter had me try the draw versions in each and what a difference this made. I constantly found my ball flight became much more neutral with the occasional draw shape which i never got with my old sim max. In the end i found the best combo was the rogue d with thr mms shaft which is still as long as my old sim max but the accurary results are much tighter in the draw driver

You should have adjusted the 9* up to 9.75 and the 10.5 down to 9.75, please do this review again that way
@LWG2 жыл бұрын
That moves the face angle 3 degrees between them so makes the draw bias part pointless. This was not a which goes further test. It was a review of the HD and to see if it’s worth me changing
@davidolmstead96942 жыл бұрын
How about comparing the 10.5° Stealth to your current 9° Sim2 Max adjusted to 10.5°? Adjust to 10.5° would increase spin by approx. 300 rpm (per TaylorMade) while also closing the face to better compare the two.
@LWG2 жыл бұрын
My driver is the Max D not the max so like reducing loft makes the comparison pointless. Plus it wasn’t a comparison in that breath. I was seeing if there was much difference to change whilst also reviewing the product

Yeah you will unlikely get custom fit into the sim2 now because it’s old or obsolete. Only what pros have on the shelf

The man who convinced me to get the Sim2 D (which I love). Couldn't you down the Stealth HD 10.5 to 9.5 or even 9 to get a closer comparison?
@hbyrdut2 жыл бұрын
You could have lofted your sim2 up to 10.5 to make a better comparison on loft but of course that would have closed the face 3 degrees.

@keithmartin25292 жыл бұрын
I understand the face angle change on both drivers, but comparing a 9* with a 10.5* is pointless, I have a sim d and a sim 2 d, both at 9* because I am using an autoflex shaft and the sim 2 launches so much higher than the sim that I can't use it unless I turn it down to 7.5* this negates the "d" and I am losing it right again, I want to see the comparison between sim or sim2 to sealth d to see it the ball flight of the sealth is lower than the sim 2 but goes longer than the sim 1
@keithmartin25292 жыл бұрын
The reason I tried the sim 2 d was because I heard it was more forgiving and had less right bias as the sim 1 d, I watched the review of these drivers on Tgw and all st 9* the sim d launched at 13* with 228 carry, sim2d launched at 17* with 244 carry and the sealth d launched at 13* with 255 carry. By this review the sealth has the same launch as the sim 1 d but is supposed to be more forgiving with longer carry. I like the looks of the sim 2 d the best, but with the autoflex shaft just goes too high. I like the flight of the sim 1 d with the autoflex and was hoping more forgiving and longer with the sim 2 d but it too high of launch, really would like it compared to the seslth d. BTW. I do thank you for reviewing these "d" drivers as this is what most people need. It is ridiculous that others do not review them because it doesn't fit their game.
