@@neelroy2918 according to the book, some tests just require (or required at the time, 10 years ago) a bigger amount of blood which is then diluted and put under a laser to see how it reacts to a specific light. Her machine was diluting the blood too much for it to react correctly to the light.

@@loiracitr Thanks, my question to OP because they mentioned Science; I am little bit sensitive about it seeing as that it the last impartial tool we have. For a while I tried to find what would that machine offer, finally I found it. I will try to post link but KZbin does not like links. My main concern was this: would two drops of blood would be *always* be identical? Machines that measure sugar for example, measure what is present *at that time* . But if you were to do HbA1c, I am not sure one drop would suffice. Nor would for any test where average is needed, I would assume ESR needs it. But it is offered. How did she convince others? Does nobody else find it weird that there are so many shows like this - about people who have mistreated so many people in full public view? First Inventing Anna, and now this. Netflix have made a TV show about Jimmy Saville now too - and that guy was pure evil. It makes me feel physically ill that after all the terrible things he did, discussion of his deeds now counts as entertainment. I mean I get it, bad people are fascinating, but shows like this frame them as misunderstood (I don't know about the Saville one, I'm not going anywhere near that). They make you empathise with them. This woman gave false hope to millions of terminally ill people, and now there's a TV show about her, from her point of view, played by an actress that everybody loves. Something's gone wrong here.

@@seanraines5871 The thing you have to remember is that Steve Jobs, Zuckerberg, and Gates, they all WORKED. They didn't just gather money and give orders, they actually rolled up their sleaves and worked. Well Zuck and Gates worked much harder than Jobs. Jobs wasn't technical. He was more about giving orders to Wozniak who was technical. But those 3 very young men, they listened to the people working for them and when the people said, "yeah this a great idea, but here are the road blocks" then they changed directions. Holmes never listened to her subordinates when they told her no. She just wanted to give orders. And if they still said it couldn't be done, she would fire them and then threaten them with a lawsuit if they spoke to anyone. That is not something that Zuck or Gates ever would have done (particularly to their most knowledgible people.) But she did. You also have to remember, this girl never had a boss in her life. Never. She never had a boss, never had to actually do a job in her life. And that was by design. She was never ever going to do a job because to do a job means to OBEY a boss. That was never going to happen. She figured that because she is such a sweet person with a sweet idea, she should just be able to order people to obey her or have them removed and well, that is that. Of course that was NOT that and her lies (the lies to secure all the funding) came back to haunt her.
