I was raised on German and Polish music . . . until I heard Irish Music and read "Trinity". I bought a 48 button concertina, a couple of penny whistles and spent several happy years playing Irish music. Who can hear this music and know the history of Ireland and not feel that there is a piece of Ireland in all of us. I'm 81 now and my wish is to travel to Ireland and experience it for myself. Maybe.

As i walk by the God bless, i heard an old fisherman singing a song take home shipwreak, see you someday on fiddlers green, where the skies are all clear , wrap me up in oil skins , ill see you some day in fiddlers green. And the skippers, no more on the docks ill be seen. Trouberts seen, growing around every tree, on the dark side seen. I wow, memories sing you a song, jumpers, taking a trip

The title suggests that it is a concert from 2024, which is obviously not correct. They are recordings from all kinds of years.
@TheDublinersOfficial9 ай бұрын
Sorry for the confusion. It it a compilation or a collection. The Dubliners retired from performing in 2012. We just thought it would be nice to collate performances from different periods of the band.
@tijnonline68079 ай бұрын
@@TheDublinersOfficial Thanks for your answer :-) I love those different periods, they all have their charm ! But anyway, I suspect maybe better to change the title to: Dubliners collection through the years :-)
@Marc4432 жыл бұрын
Great collection. I am a big fan since the late eighties and visited over 20 concerts. Best example here, that Patsy was an absolute wrong decision to replace Paddy. Until 2005, the voices were unique and absolute synchronized in every chorus. With Patsy a clown came in. His way of singing made it impossible to sing synchron caused by his timing. Better option would have been Al O‘Donnel.
@reelixde2 жыл бұрын
The best replacement would be Jim but unfortunately he was sick after the 2002s. He would also be a great Luke replacement in 84
@briancox36912 жыл бұрын
I agree. I've always been a great Dubs fan, but the plain truth is that Patsy can't sing... The Dubs tradition of great, great singers (Luke, Jim and Paddy) is totally lost with Patsy. The best singing we've had in recent years is when Sean gets going with the stuff that he sings really well. Luke was great and absolutely unique. Jim was a superb singer. Paddy's performance at the 40th anniversary concert was absolutely monumental. Ireland is a wonderful source of music. Surely they could have found better than Patsy...
@reelixde2 жыл бұрын
@@briancox3691honestly you’re not wrong but for me Jim really made the best and monumental performance at 40 Years absolutely amazing from him. It’s also on off his last concerts
