Ronnie at his best sounding like a reed-pipe in a church organ. His voice is surely missed by all Dubliner fans! RIP Ronnie and all other passed Dubliner members.

The casual listener might think his vocal mic was malfunctioning but he actually sounded like that

Haha I don't even think a malfunctioning microphone could make such a sound. Absolutely quality

It becomes more powerful when my name is Benjamin Ratcliffe.
@fingalful111 жыл бұрын
Ratcliffe's originally Norman, now an English name & has been since soon after the Conquest. They first settled in Nottingham near Ratcliffe, meaning Red Cliff, either named after them or from where they took their name. (I don't know.) Many settled in Ireland, maybe since the Elizabethans or Cromwellians. Again no idea!) Their motto is Virtus Propter Se. But Ratcliffe Highway's in Wapping, London; the scene of a vicious buldgeoning of 2 families including a baby. The suspect committed suicide.

Actually, the name is purely English, it was just recorded first by Norman scripes. The ''rat'' is just from the English ''red'' and ''cliffe''. There were, indeed, Norman Ratcliffs but only because they took their name from an English-named area (as was common).

It's about the highway in east London. I beleive they used to call it the murder mile. The 1st police force was formed there from the local parishes watchmen by sir Robert peel. Aka the peelers sailors from all over drank there

Indeed! In fact, the Ratcliff Highway murders were the most famous before the Whitechapel murders and even got a reference in Sherlock Holmes.

My last name is Ratcliffe...do you know of the Ireland Ratcliffe's? I was told my family came from Ireland many years ago, so I wonder if there are any Ratcliffe's left in Ireland.
