Ducati's scrambler series is designed to be a more accessible, usable, and practical variant in the Italian manufacturer's line, with specific, targeted sub-models for individually styled needs. This version, the Desert Sled, is lifted on knobby tires, with a reinforced frame, long-travel suspension, and a desert-themed look. The 461 lb motorcycle (Wet) makes 73 HP and 49 lb/ft, and starts at $11,995.
Ducati provided the motorcycle and insurance for this review.

Honestly, it's much better than at least 75% of the motorcycle reviews out there. Your lack of experience with bikes makes it a lot more relatable for those of us who are into cars, but have a casual bike interest. Definitely want to see more.

If you're into bike reviews I'm pretty sure you know them, but I've recently fallen in love with FortNine's reviews. I'm a very casual bike enthousiast (partly only since watching their stuff), but in terms of review quality ánd style and writing, I think they give every car review channel a run for its money. Could not recommend more warmly!

Love this video. No shame in just getting out there and enjoying a bike. As someone who has never ridden before, the concept that you don't need to be going 10/10ths on a superbike all the time is welcoming and inviting. It makes riding seem more accessible.

Great review. Something exactly like this, is what the motorcycling industry needs. You’re not a pro, nor have the skills to utilize even a bike like this 100%. Yet, you do have riding experience. This will speak to many getting into motorcycling, or returning.

I feel like the hypermotard is their off-road/on road hybrid bike. So many people swap tires on hypermotard and bam u have an enduro, and it’s smaller than the multistrada which is legit for touring and off-roading. The scrambler was for hipsters who wanted cafe-racer looks but can’t swerve on potholes in the road. Love the bike review Matt really hope there’s some more in the future :) !!

That was great! Taking your skill of driving and talking to riding and talking is a great idea. When you talk about taking a GT2RS to 10/10ths, I get a little lost, because I know I'll never be that good of a driver: but with a motorcycle it puts us at a similar skill level that is much more relatable. Well done.

I second this. I am seriously considering it as my next bike. However, I'm afraid that the gear ratios are too spread apart for street riding and occasional canyon/mountain runs, most of what I would do (I love shifting). Matt's humble riding opinion could give great insight into it.
@mehkayla6685
@mehkayla6685 4 жыл бұрын
@@Ryansawsume Get one, i don't think you would be disappointed. I just got a 2018 765 RS and I feel like it's very well rounded. And being that it has quite a flat torque curve, you can enjoy shifting in the mid-range without feeling like you're lugging the engine one bit. The quick shifter makes it really fun. It's the first bike I've owned with a QS and i don't think I'd get another modern bike without one now. It's very usable in traffic, and is plenty exiting when you want to get into the fun stuff. Happy shopping!

Also despite the mild manners of the 803, this bike easily handles the Highway. In fact, I find it MORE stable dealing with wind from large vehicles etc. than my 2018 Goldwing. Mitigate the wind to your head and I’m kinda content on the interstate with it. There’s little surface area for the wind to smack. And, the six speed makes her easily cruise at 80. And higher. Love mine. Also 6’3” tall

It doesn’t matter if you’re not Valentino Rossi... (none of us are anyway). Reviews with super top pilot that can slide, wheelie, stoppie and much more are surely fun to watch, but it’s not really representative to what most of us will do with the bike once we have it. So Matt, just do it the way you like and feel safe doing it. Have fun, that’s all that matters.

Thank you Matt, I enjoyed that, although I love my Desert Sled, I took a deep breath before I started the video and said to myself "even if he doesn't like it, that's OK". However my biggest take-away is that my UK bike cannot run with the headlight off, so you never get to see the cool LED DRL, I always thought the DRL was pointless, but now I understand you guys in the states can run that way. What a dumb thing to be jealous of! And yet I still am....

As an owner of a Desert Sled, I wholeheartedly agree with all of this. I'll drive all sorts of stupid shit on 4 wheels, but when it comes to two wheels, I stick to the more sedate stuff! The Desert Sled is a ton of fun, without being at risk of losing your license or your life all the time. And everyone thinks it looks bad ass which is a nice bonus.

Great review, thanks Matt and team! I'm also a biker but I don't get into the motorcycle content elsewhere much, probably due to the lower quality of most of it compared to what is out there for cars. So I'd welcome more of this please! On a side note, I thought I'd lose interest in my CBR600F after getting into my 911 (997 C2S manual) earlier this year but the two sensations are very different so I'll definitely remain a biker also.

The design of US highway/interstate network and driver education standards raises many questions about the intelligence and adequacy of the people behind the decisions made.
