Hard disagree. What worked in Roger Rabbit was that it was a very classic noir film where the cartoon character stood out more. Seeing the protagonist slowly embrace a more cartoony and loony way of life was a big point of the movie, while here, if every human acts like a cartoon, it only makes the actual cartoon character seem more tuned down. The contrast between reality and caricature is what makes the concept work, not the other way around. Said line shouldn't be blurried, but emphasized.

Wow. You did incredible work on this sir! The animation on its own looks great. And it legit feels like it’s really there in the live action world. And the actors worked great, I’m convinced they think they're looking at and talking to cartoon people. Probably because they use physical references on set, but they don’t do that for kids films anymore, I guess they don’t care as much.

God this would have been such a fun movie! This is everything that made movies like who framed Roger rabbit and space jam classics. The story is fun, the characters especially the villains are likable, and the effects complement each other. A movie like this would have thrived back in the days or at least become a cult classic.

I love this so much. Imagine if Warner Bros. took this project at the time and turned into something like a Daffy Duck animated film.

Nicely done, fellow animator!
@lecsloser2283Ай бұрын
What's funny about this, is it ENTIRELY feels like a movie Daffy Duck would bring to Warner Bros. A movie about a superhero duck and duck villain, both starring Daffy Duck. I mean, they both look and sound like Daffy in costume doing a voice slightly off from his own. Even has the exact shape of his bill.

Seeing all of the other "Animation+live action" movies that came out after/around this time... You might have a blessing in disguise. I don't know if it would have done well enough at the box office at that time. Having a movie that didn't get picked up vs a movie that bombed at the box office. Looks incredible!

With the innovations in technology and digital film-making, I guarantee if you pitched this to those stunt-team producers who directed Violent Night, as "John Wick meets Roger Rabbit" they'd probably still make it today! Would it be as cool as this? Absolutely not. This is pretty darn amazing, man. Especially for '98. I could absolutely see how some studios wouldn't want to take the "risk" of putting this out around the same time as popular kid-friendly stuff. And I imagine it would cost a pretty penny. heck, I wouldn't doubt if this cost a bundle, itself. But the fact it's shot on film, and made with fun and love, absolutely shines through. Thanks for posting this. First time seeing it, if you can't tell.

Sweet! Only ever saw a couple gifs and screen shots of the characters in the past. Didnt realize this was floating on YT. Awesome job. This concept sits in the back of my mind, reminding to continue my own projects. Doesnt matter if it gets off the ground. In the end the inspiration it provides is much more invaluable than any marketing campaign or blockbuster budget can engage with.
