Hey Mary, the name Quinlan refers to a Jedi named Quinlan Vos. He was a comic book character visually based on a background extra from Episode I. The character was popular enough that Quinlan's own padawan, Aayla Secura (blue Twilek jedi woman)actually made it into Episodes II and III. In fact Quinlan himself was written into the order 66 sequence of Episode III. It was later cut and never shot and thus the comics decided he escaped the jedi purge. His popularity remained so strong that he was included in the Clone Wars series and he has had no less than 4 different action figures. It's kind of a big deal to hear Ewan speak his name here because it canonizes him further and sets up a potential, long awaited, live action appearance.

Additionally, when the series was cancelled after Disney bought Lucasfilm, but before the final season was greenlit for Disney+, one of the final planned storylines that was scrapped was adapted into a novel called Dark Disciple. It featured a tale of Quinlan and Dooku's former apprentice, Asajj Ventress, teaming up to take down Dooku and investigate the Sith conspiracy.

I believe George Lucas has said in the past that Leia would have been stronger than Luke, but yes, they were both already force sensitive from a young age. That's how children were able to be identified by the Jedi and start training from such a young age, they actually start displaying force sensitivity shortly after birth (in the old EU lore, that is)

Vader the most powerful wielder of the Force next to the Emperor during this era,,, Obi-wan very rusty and even removed from the Force, filled with self-doubt and remorse and shocked that Anakin is still alive - but that is the dragon that he's meant to slay in this story arc, I'm sure. Callback predictions - he learns to commune with QuiGon, which I'm sure would remove his fear and doubt and renew his commitment to protecting Anakin's children. Thought experiment: if you KNEW there was an afterlife that was accessible to you, would it make you more or less afraid of Death? And if it made you less afraid, would you be less afraid to sacrifice what was left of your life in order to do some good? Larger existential questions that I hope this series dives into.

Obi-wan always had a blue lightsaber. I don’t think it’s been explained in Canon yet but from games, colors have different meanings. Blue: more focused on fighting than force training. Green: more focused on force training but not as good in combat. Yellow: balanced between the two. Probably has not come up since it’s not consistent.

That was a recent canon change. And one I never truly liked, since it doesn't make one lick of sense. Neither in Classic Star Wars, nor even in Modern Star Wars. Originally, the color of the blade was just the color of the crystal used to power up the saber, which was just chosen by the Jedi themselves out of personal preference. The only exception being the Sith red crystals, which were that color because they were sinthetic. But then in Disney Star Wars they changed it to as how it is today, that the crystal is initially colorless and then takes a color when the saber picked up by a force-sentitive. And I'm sorry, but that is just nonesense. With that stablished canon, lightsabers would change colors depending on who is wielding them, and we know that NEVER happens. So what was the point of it? To be honest, I prefer the original canon explanation. Maybe it was mundane, but honestly, I liked it better that way.

Obi was soo lucky he survived. Vader is probably close to his strongest and Obi is at his weakest. The force has shifted to the dark side. Luckily Vader wanted to toy with him and torture him instead of kill him. I hope Obi gets his Rocky moment and Qui-Gon can bring back some of the old Obi and help him deal with his PTSD.

11:45 so this is something that a lot of people will miss and think, “But hasn’t he always had blue?”. In episode 3, both his and Anakin’s sabers were a slightly darker shade of blue, almost an indigo. I met George at a convention one time and asked if this was done on purpose, his response was that it’s supposed to be subtle. The lightsaber crystals “age” with their wielder and feel what they feel. Ben has become old and weak, so has his lightsaber crystal, hence the less regal blue.

Bit of info, obi wan didn’t choose to leave his family, it was republic law that a force sensitive infant could be taken by the Jedi after a few months, they would leave them alone if they found them older than three unless they were particularly powerful as they were old enough to have some attachments, and Leia is definitely using the force as it can be detected in new borns, it’s how she reads people so easily

Darth Vader was everything I hoped for, Love how terrifying and brutal oh how he used the force on the villagers and menacing during his duel with Obi-Wan and his torture of him. I think he ultimately could have gotten to Kenobi if he really wanted to but let him go for 2 reasons. First he wants Obi-Wan to suffer and live in fear while he hunts him, and secondly he wants to prove he’s better than him and that his victory on Mustafar was a fluke.

Quinlan Vos was the Jedi Master who trained Aayla Secura (the blue Twi'Lek Jedi from Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith). He appears briefly in Phantom Menace, sitting near where Jar Jar has his confrontation with the cheating Dug podracer Sebulba. He was also featured in an episode of The Clone Wars, where he accompanies Obi-Wan to track down Ziro the Hutt. Last we heard, he and his clones troopers were being sent to besiege Boz Pity. His name appeared in one of the comics on a list of other possible survivors of the Great Jedi Purge. I sense we may see him, but it may also be his death.

@@A-TOP-11 In the Galactic Republic, it was considered a great honor to give a Force-sensitive child to the Jedi Order. Contact with their biological families wasn't to be encouraged due to the potential of forming personal attachments, which goes against the Jedi way. Besides, as Obi-Wan said, the Jedi Order became his new family, so if he's any indication the average Jedi was not inclined to see their original family that they left when they were so young they'd barely remember them. For a Jedi, the Order was their true family. Anakin Skywalker is the exception, of course, given that he was much older when he joined the Order. And even then, he didn't his mother for ten years because he was too busy training to be a Jedi. Training to be a Jedi is a lifelong commitment that doesn't leave much time for anything else.

Mary, a blue lightsaber indicates Obi-Wan Kenobi is a Jedi Guardian who is more focused on lightsaber combat and uses the Force to enhance a Jedi's physicality (ie. strength, speed, endurance). Green is most commonly used by Jedi Consulars who prefer to use diplomacy to resolve conflicts rather than using a lightsaber but will use it if diplomacy fails and in battle they tend to use the Force more than a Guardian. As for the Jedi Sentinel who wield yellow lightsabers they seek out any signs of the dark side and while they can use the Force and wield a lightsaber they would utilize other skills instead and make themselves less likely to be recognized as a Jedi. In fact in Star Wars: Legends most of the Jedi who survived Order 66 were most likely Sentinels because nobody recognized them as Jedi.

Had to check the 'Phantom menace' and Obi's sword was blue in that one as well... don't think the lightsaber colors matter at all, Obi's is blue - Luke's is green - Ahsoka's are white and they are all powerful Jedis...
