They’re not well liked in their town. The Duggars would take advantage of “kids eat free” nights at restaurants expecting a free meal for every child and threatened to make a big stink if the restaurant didn’t comply. They took advantage of all you can eat buffets too. A few years ago a group of them went to Krispy Kreme to get free doughnuts. They ended up getting 13 dozen of them! How greedy can you be? A group also went to ChikfilA and each got a free sandwich. I don’t know if it’s true but supposedly Joshua and Grandma Duggar used to regularly call companies and ask for free goods/services and cash donations. Jim Bob and Michelle were not able to provide for all their children on their own. But they want you to believe that they did. I don’t consider them to be Christians. Money is their god.

When I watched the show, reading between the lines, it felt like they thought their kids were their property and made all the decisions for them. Ha! This is CRAZY! My other half travels around the country working on landfills, mainly visiting when they are out of compliance. It is extremely important that materials are separated into appropriate areas of the landfills bc of the liner put down before trash is dumped. Many landfills siphon the liquid off the collected waste, to convert into methane, that can be used as electricity & power vehicles. Putting materials in the wrong area can cause many issues, including increased odor, which can lead to costly violations from the EPA. If the landfill is fined by the EPA, they can impose those fines daily, until the problem is fixed. The fines can be in the thousands per day. A small landfill, like the one in Tontitown, could be devastated financially if they incurred such fines. The Duggars "thriftiness," or selfishness as I see it, could literally threaten a small business' existence! I don't like them for many reasons, but since the landfill business is part of my family's livelihood, it strikes a particular nerve with me.🤬

And now our married daughters and their families give to those in need. And it now translates into our 8 yr old grandson finding needs in his town and figuring out a way to give back. My grandfather was in shipping (he was born in the later side of the 1890s) & made money that was essentially unheard of to most people. My father who’s now in his late 80s immigrated with the family & went on to become the CFO at several known companies. What did I learn from my crazy childhood? The main reason rich people remain as wealthy as they are & grow wealthier is because if they can get someone else to eat the cost, they typically do. Charitable donations are generally just a way of getting a further tax break. That said, JimBob has basically been this way from day one. Way back when there was a long thread on that FreeJinger site that had some crazy (but verifiable/verified) stories about them, how they were before & how even with the first TLC special, they were grifting from their church. JimBob May now have money but he’s also proving to be an utter idiot when it comes to how to actually save a buck. Why is it that it’s almost always the fundie Jesus Junkies that end up indicted on fraud charges because of stuff like this, Heritage USA & everything else these people do, it you must break laws, learn that you are fallible & it isn’t a matter of if it will catch up with you, but when. I'm not surprised at all. He's actually cost the town in the 12k in fees, but running bulldozers & other equipment costs at least a couple hundred dollars an hour (probably more). I wonder what kind of break he gets on his property taxes, for living so close to the dump? He probably pays pennies on the dollar. The Bible may state that he should be a good steward of his money & make it grow, but I doubt he's helping the poor, the widowed, and the orphaned! You are doing a great job Katie! I had a landlord that refuse to credit me money he had agreed to credit me for materials and equiment rentals used to improve the property (i asked nothing for my own efforts...just my expenses) and he never did...so we were at an impass towards the end & had the last things that were meant for the dump & in my utter exhaustion i threw my hands up and said, "f**k it" & left it there. I still have a modicum of guilt about that...then i remember the slum it was when i moved in and how i did enough to the place to where he was able to charge 40% more than he charged me a mere two years later and figure if nothing else, were certainly even.

You have to remember that JB is a political person who has used every Arkansas code in the book for his advantage. The house is tax free because it’s a house of “worship”. He uses his religion as a way around paying and then when that doesn’t work, he knows what State laws to bend. I also remember reading how they don’t tip when going out to eat (or it’s very little). Imagine having a huge table to wait on and then getting nothing for your hard work. Lifetime Grifting should be the name of their show.

This reminds me of footage early on, when they were getting the bus ready for a trip and JB is in the office of the shop owner (?) asking for more of a deal as he then explains to the viewer's, this is a tip of their frugality. In recent years that has struck me increasingly as NOT a frugality tip but entitlement AND furthermore I question how receptive JB would be to someone doing this to him. Also on their travel to China, Jim Bob was trying to get a lower price for hats on a souvenir store and even talks to the camera saying he is proud of getting the best price and teaching this to his children. I really like the way you dive in to the Duggars and try to be open minded, while they are being so misleading. In the beginning I really liked the way they seemed to put comfort out of their faith. But when I saw more of them, it became a little creapy. By the way: I always thought Jinger would be the one to break with the family, never thought it would be Jill. But I hope Jill is able to stay away from their influence. I think John David could be next. Abby is not a real Duggar wife and he seems to adore her, so if she wants to work, I really think he will be okay with that. Katie, the Duggars ordered the kit & supplies to build their home, and it was an incomplete kit, so the company gave them a 2nd mit free of charge. They did not have the materials donated to them!

Britains largest family did a documentary a few years ago, for part of it they were talking about money and they said that if you have a large family you can never be a millionaire because all your money should be spent on your kids.
