Sam Woodyard was with the Duke Ellington Orchestra from 1955 till 1966, Buster Cooper from 1962 - 1969, Cat Anderson was in the band for a total of 22 years, Paul Gonsalves for 24, and Harry Carney for 47 years. The Duke was blessed with these master musicians, and they were fortunate to have a steady job in the greatest of all big bands.
