I can relate to how Cooter feels.I've worked 2 full time jobs in the past 6am to 2pm then 3pm to 11pm 16 hours a day 6 days a week and not much sleep so yeah I can't blame Cooter for feeling the way he does.

Me too... just to come home in time to see the children I birthed sleeping, like they were when I left. Broke my heart to never get to spend time outside of dressing them for day care to go to one job, a 15 minute trip to home so the babysitter could meet me when I went to the 2nd job. Couldn't afford the daycare without the 2nd job and needed the first job to pay the bills.

They weren’t running shine. Uncle Jesse kept his end of the deal he made with the US govt while the boys were on probation that he’d never cook shine and he never did through the entire show. So the boys were never running it.

Racing and helping Uncle Jesse were their main source of income. They also ran errands or did small work for other people, as can be seen in episode "The Hack of Hazzard" where they help Miss Tisdale (or Tizdale) drive her taxi cab. It's never seen or implied, but you could also think that they probably received some kind of economical retribution from people they helped. Then again, their car repair bill was paid off multiple times by people who were helped by Bo and Luke, including Boss Hogg himself. Nonetheless, they NEVER ran shine in the show for income. You could said they did in the episode "High Octane", but it was a Boss Hogg's scheme to lure the Dukes to make moonshine and get them in jail, while he could win an alternative fuel contest.

John Schneider explained it on a you tube video he did a couple years ago. (Look up top ten questions asked about Dukes of Hazzard). It was easier on splitting the shots between the main actors and the stunt men. With all the vehicles they went through, they had to keep cost down on set as well. Also, remember, the Dukes were not a rich family, they didn't have much to have a lot of clothes. Daisy made hers for the most part (both the character and actress) so, she had more clothes.
