I always thought it was funny where the cars would change models in one jump. One episode, a Fury or Monaco police car was jumped then turned into an AMC Matador when it landed. Love the bloopers. No shortage of them on the Dukes.

This is an interesting and hilarious video! The part where Bo asked for Luke's help in fighting Richard Moll reminded me of a similar scene in Simon & Simon where Rick said "A. J., I could use some help over here!" when he was trying to subdue a big guy but A.J. had already been pounded by the guy! Love the X Files music! As far as driving to the Philippines, a kid once told Bob Newhart "Wait till I get my van! I'm going to Europe!" 😅

This was a great video. I was 7 when The Dukes of Hazzard came out. I had been seeing the commercials for it's upcoming release and I was stoked! It will always remain my favorite show. No other show takes me back and gives me that feeling quite like the Dukes of Hazzard can. My uncle bought me the General Lee model for my 8th birthday. I built it and kept it. At 22, I walked into my grandma's house and seen my little cousins playing with it but, she wouldn't let me take it from them. 20 years later, grandma passes. The General is beat to death but, I got it back and it sits in the bookshelf in the corner of the living room. Nobody better touch it, either.

There were also quite a few times the police cars changed mid chase. One scene it would be the newer police car, then the early model then back to the new model again. I think there was also at least one episode that the push-bar on the General changed between the wide and narrow version from one scene to the next.

If you play the episodes in chronological order you’ll also notice the Duke boys crashed Daisy‘s car after she got the Jeep. Yet, the reason why she got the jeep was because the Duke boys crashed her car. 5:01
@StoneC0ld5345
@StoneC0ld5345 4 ай бұрын
If you're referring to Bo & Luke crashing Daisy's yellow Road Runner off the cliff, that did happen in the same episode as Daisy gets the Jeep, and said crash did happen before Daisy gets the Jeep. The "goof" that I think you're referring to is the fact that they aired one episode out of production order. This resulted in Daisy mysteriously having the Jeep (for no apparent reason) in "Arrest Jesse Duke", having the Road Runner again in "Duke of Duke", and the Road Runner going off the cliff and Daisy getting the Jeep in "The Runaway".

The M113 Armored Personnel Carrier is the vehicle used in Dukes of Hazard. Bo and Luke left Hazard to let the heat (their wanted level) die down and Coy and Vance came to cover them, and went to jail for life after they left (that's why they vanished from the series and cartoon). Frank Welker voiced Megatron in the G1 Transformers animated series.

2:20 This is a dumb claim that I've been hearing since the 1980s - no, the show isn't responsible for '69 Dodge Chargers being hard to find. There were over 89,000 '69 Dodge Chargers made, and the show used about 300 Chargers. Some of the Chargers the show used weren't even '69 models.

It would be fun to revisit the show as an adult to watch all of the damage cars miraculously become whole again. Unlike some people commenting here I absolutely did notice it as a kid. Although my all-time favorite car goof was on Hardcastle & McCormick when one of the cars involved in a chase lost a hubcap going around one corner, a few scenes later lost a hubcap on the other side going around another corner, and then at the end of the chase when performing a Dukes of Hazzard style jump as it landed all 4 hubcaps shot off the car!

There's one classic goof that even Waylon comments on in the middle of the episode. The Dukes are driving the General Lee in some chase scene and they go by someone painting yellow stripes on the road and when they go by the yellow paint brush goes all the way down the side of the General. The General Lee goes through a mud puddle and in the very next cut scene there is no yellow paint and Waylon refers to it as magic mud puddle memory serves correct. It was the only good called out on the show.

To the best of my knowledge (and I'm probably wrong), about 309 '69 Dodge Chargers were used during the show's seven-season run on CBS from '79 to '85. The final two seasons (six and seven) resorted to using miniature 1/8 scale models operated off-camera by remote control--as well as stock footage of the General Lee jumping over ravines, quarries, damaged bridges, and railroad crossings culled from previous episodes--in an attempt to reduce escalating costs. As I had already mentioned in my initial comment, '68 and '70 Chargers were often modified to match the exact specifications of the '69 model...as a result, '69 Dodge Chargers are extremely rare.

Even Cooter's cousins join in, L.B. and B.B. show up in a few episodes then we never see them again. So many shows from the 70's and 80's would have the car model change from scene to scene, I was and still am a hard core car enthusiast, in the 70's and 80's I was 8 to 18 years old, my dad used to take me to car dealers all the the time and auto shows, I had brochures for everything, I could to tell you the year, make, model of just about anything on the road from the 50's to the 80's, it would drive me crazy how they would change the cars throughout the show. Cop cars could change from Ford to Chevy to Mopar all within a 3min car chase, used to drive me nuts!

I reckon Coy and Vance were the studio's attempt at permanently replacing Bo and Luke. The decline in ratings is what led to Tom Wopat and John Schneider returning. Coy and Vance were dollar store Bo and Luke. They were never seen as more than discount replacements which is why they never appeared on the show or cartoon again after Bo and Luke returned. I reckon folks back then would rather believe Coy and Vance never existed. It's an unfortunate legacy for Byron Cherry and Christopher Mayer (RIP). Their contribution to Dukes of Hazzard is reduced to a less interesting and forgettable chapter of the hit show's history. The characters people care about are Bo, Luke, Daisy, Rosco, Boss Hog, Uncle Jesse, Cooter, Enos and Cletus.

Trying to avoid the Car Crusher Trying to get away from Roscoe Trying Not to get Stolen It also had an impersonator, maybe that’s the one you saw in the 1st episode, imitation is the most sincere form of flattery. Some of my favorite scenes were Daisy Driving, the road runner, I thought was a later charger, or the General Lee

I think it was the episode "Duke vs Duke, which put Bo and Luke racing against each other where The General's transmission started slipping and lost all forward gears, forcing Bo to finish the race in reverse. Other issues were the occasional overheating due to the radiator getting shot. Broken CB antenna. Getting stripped down to bare bones. Acts of sabotage. a few roll-overs here and there. Not to mention the windshields, rear glass and mirrors getting shot up. Whew!! The General at times had a rough life.

Just found your channel a few weeks ago and I'm having a blast. Thanks for helping me relieve my childhood. I'm very appreciative for what you do. Ever thought 🤔 of doing the A-Team series ? I'd be interested in what you come up with.

That opening scene of episode 1 when Bo and Luke were chasing Cooter...the cop car is a different model in the crash than it is in the opening jump. The front ends look different.

I agree with how the show changed for the worse after moving to CA. You just can’t reproduce that “early morning fog” found in the southeast.

Since you're talking about the Carnival of Thrills car changing models repeatedly, The Hazzard County police cars did it all the time. For instance, in your first goof, the police car that does the jump is a '74 Dodge Monaco, but the car that rolls at the end is a '70 Dodge Polara.

Leaving town on probation was even easier to do then than now with a work leave from the courts. All u need is statements from employers and granted it’s been 40 years ago but if remember correctly they were connected with Cale Yarborough from Darlington South Carolina and highly recognized and respected around the south so that would explain being able to get the work release

Except for the first few episodes in season one, Bo and Luke always wore the same shirts yet Daisy always had laundry out on the line that where never worn in the rest of the series. Even Coy and Vance wore the same shirts throughout the 5th season. If the clothesline was filled with about 10 of the same shirts for each of them, then that would explain it. (I have some of my favorite shirts to wear too but at least I’m not wearing the same one every day for 7 years straight without washing it).

Just say APC instead of tank. Even they referred to the General as "he" not "it". I'm not sure but the other home grown armored vehicle looked familiar, like mabey it had been in "A Team"? This took me down memory lane watching the Dukes, the A Team, Airwolf (my ringtone), and Star Trek. Thanks! They said that they didn't destroy thousands or even hundreds but rather a few dozen chargers. I remember different wheels with a different number of spokes, and if memory serves even a '68 or two showing up.

Damn. I have always loved bloopers. Used to make whole shows of them way back. He'll used to be my favorite show on Friday nights from S1 E1. Yeah I saw that one on broadcast TV on one of three channels plus PBS. I was 11 when the show debuted and still knew the cars in stunts were getting totalled. Not like the Fast and Furious crowd now. Grew up on I 30 Speedway. Then later owned and raced Hobby Class. I really miss Dirt Track racing. The one thing I never saw was as nice a Charger as pretty as the General Lee on a 1/4 mile dirt track.

When I was a kid, in the 70s, someone bought me a toy car. It was a orange Pinto with a confederate flag on top and 00 on the doors. So the Pinto part here really got me. Lol

It’s a lot of these same mistakes in The Fall Guy series. I noticed the other day. Colt was chasing in a old Chevy truck but when he made the jump. It was a old ford truck the same color red.

During the very first chase, the sheriffs car goes from a 75 Dodge Monaco (jump) to a 70 Dodge Polara (flip). Later on in the same episode you see the same two cars again chasing the Dukes before they all arive at the orphanage home.

Go back to 12:39 in the video. You mention Coy's wheel was not even spinning on the motorcycle. Well you forgot to include that when he is moving the handlebars back and forth, the front wheel and riser doesn't rotate to the left and right either!😂

You can catch Tom Wopat in the Smallville Season 5 episode "Exposed" (2004) where he plays an old friend of Jonathan Kent and comes roaring up the Kent farm driveway Dukes-style in a blue Dodge Charger. They even tear down the road the same way as they did in TDoH. One of them even mentions having known the other for 25 years (which comes out to 1979). It was an obvious homage, but a welcome one. 😎👍

Actually the 1971 Plymouth Road runner was only used in the first 5 Episodes of season 1. They used a 1972 Plymouth Satellite for the rest of the episodes on season 1 and season 2. So actually it was a 72 satellite that was driven off the cliff.
