Pretty easy gig to get paid for. Paul Wight / Big Show hasn't really done much either, especially since they cancelled Dark. He did a match in November last year where he could barely move and hasn't been seen since. Tony Khan just paying him for doing nothing I guess. You'd think when both Mark and Paul were on the roster, he would actually do something with them.

@@teemimika7105 Yup, not sure about Big Show tho but I do remember that Mark Henry was mainly signed as a coach and talent scout. But yea, doesn't excuse the fact that TK really does seem to just be signing whoever he wants even tho it looks like (at least for majority of the signings) that he has no plans for them whatsoever. Which is really a shame, but I do still hope that AEW gets back up to its feet, because the writing on the wall is there that they are really slowly going kaput.

Trench I'll give you, I couldn't even remember his name till you said it lol. Flair was also fun for 1-2 appearances but it got old real fast. CJ however had some potential and cut some solid promos. The timing of Miro's injury - right as he had had momentum again and her turn - was terrible. I feel she had real value in a company with a lot of weak promos, it's a shame she's gone following the divorce and didn't just work separately from him.

Rick Flair doesn't have to be a pointless signing. Give him some clients and a microphone and he could be an excellent manager, or make him an authority figure he's got the charisma and mic skills to pull it off. Maybe they have other plans for him post Sting's retirement but we'll have to wait and see. CJ Perry and Miro could have been professionals and still worked together even after their divorce. I mean if I had a spouse that worked at the same company as me and we got divorced I wouldn't quit my job or expect them to either. We'd get our work done even if we threw dishes at each other when at home (lol) but personal and work life should be treated separately. And I can think of a few more 'pointless' or non difference making signings that you didn't mention in this video maybe you'll do another list in the future?

I feel like there would have been less of a backlash to AEW signing Ric Flair if (a) it hadn't come after his "retirement" match where there were moments it seemed like he might keel over in the ring and (b) Tony Khan didn't keep selling the company as the "ethical & moral" alternative to WWE. Wooooo energy was paying AEW as a sponsor, and they were paying for Flair's appearances, and also him and Sting were rivals in WCW (Flair talked about wanting to work with MJF, and probably would've if the deal had stayed). CJ Perry was paying off the storyline of Miro throwing away both his god and wife, but ended up being released during budget cuts. Regardless of how you feel about AEW (I personally think the product isn't very good) I think we can all agree that the company signs way too many wrestlers. I understand bringing in someone hot despite not yet having an idea of how to use them but sometimes it seems Tony Khan just makes signings so he has an announcement to make. Trimming the roster would allow him to save a bunch of money because you wouldn't have a bunch of people getting paid for doing nothing. Plus a bunch of unused talent can create friction because they're pissed off they aren't being used. Roster cuts and fewer signing should be a win-win for AEW. That Khan hasn't yet learned that doesn't give me much hope that he'll be able to do things that would attract the hundreds 9f thousands of viewers who have given up on the shows. I want AEW to succeed but I'm becoming more pessimistic about it ever becoming anything more than a niche organization at this point.

@@BiggieTrismegistus Thanks for the reply. I'm interested in your idea of cutting the roster to prevent possible friction between talents regarding TV time. I believe recently there was an issue with Britt Baker upset that Will Ospreay and MJF having a long match which word got back to both of them and caused some backstage heat. As for Tiny Tony, what can I say other than I hope that he can reflect and find the will to step aside and let others take over the reigns.

This feels like a reupload 🤔 AEW cut ties with Ric Flair back in July. That's why we haven't seen his Woo drinks since then

Any previous WWE wrestler signing is pointless they come in the company gets a rating boost for a minute then that's it. The might win a title if is sad because they are taking opportunities for AEW superstars just because of who they are and then they are never seen again on tv after aew does not know what to do with them

This video only being 8 minutes means there will probably be a part 2 coming out cause they have a lot of dumb signings.

Edge actually did numbers for them though, and he had great feuds leading up to the dumbass cage spot at Double Or Nothing.

@@TCVB491 I agree it was dumber for him to sign with them , but they tarnished his legacy
