Rick Flair doesn't have to be a pointless signing. Give him some clients and a microphone and he could be an excellent manager, or make him an authority figure he's got the charisma and mic skills to pull it off. Maybe they have other plans for him post Sting's retirement but we'll have to wait and see. CJ Perry and Miro could have been professionals and still worked together even after their divorce. I mean if I had a spouse that worked at the same company as me and we got divorced I wouldn't quit my job or expect them to either. We'd get our work done even if we threw dishes at each other when at home (lol) but personal and work life should be treated separately. CJ Perry was paying off the storyline of Miro throwing away both his god and wife, but ended up being released during budget cuts. Regardless of how you feel about AEW (I personally think the product isn't very good) I think we can all agree that the company signs way too many wrestlers. I understand bringing in someone hot despite not yet having an idea of how to use them but sometimes it seems Tony Khan just makes signings so he has an announcement to make. Trimming the roster would allow him to save a bunch of money because you wouldn't have a bunch of people getting paid for doing nothing. Plus a bunch of unused talent can create friction because they're pissed off they aren't being used. Roster cuts and fewer signing should be a win-win for AEW. That Khan hasn't yet learned that doesn't give me much hope that he'll be able to do things that would attract the hundreds 9f thousands of viewers who have given up on the shows. I want AEW to succeed but I'm becoming more pessimistic about it ever becoming anything more than a niche organization at this point.
