I have favorite players to Pete. Some FYI Channel Lock makes a linesman plier version for wire twisting that concrete workers and ironworkers use as well as anyone writing wire that has a spring close to the head that opens the jaw up It makes it so much easier to used no having to open it Eve if it’s broke in and smooth. Saves crapes hands after using for a period of time. I never miss a video. Keep up the awesome job.

One of the main reasons I bought my farm was to hunt (without asking permission). I had visions of using a dozen different stands for various conditions. However, what I learned is hunting on your own land means you hunt different. No treestands needed when the deer stand right outside your house. No camo, no deer pee, no sneaking around, no scent free showers, and no face paint necessary. Just hunt differently.

The other way of using the bullet insulators is so if the insulator was to break the wire doesn't fall away but still stays hooked together. You don't have enough tension on your wire but on power lines like I worked on you would use it the other way for protecting anything or anybody below the electric line. Same thing for the guy wires. Fields are coming along fine. Soon to be "Happy Cows" romping onto fresh feed. I love the way the tractor starts right up at the touch of the starter. Take care, jack

I just wanted to tell you how much I like your videos. When I was a kid, about 65 years ago. I use to help my uncle on his small farm. It was abour 300 acers. He had a 2 row cultivator and a 2 bottom plow. I was too your to do much. He had a Farmall M. I thought it was huge!! I was only 10. Then in a few years he let cut the Kennedy acers. Yup- KENNEDY ACERS. That is how old I am. I thought the tractor was huge! I help my son-in-law now on his farm. The tractors are much bigger. But I love to see a small farm at work. I so enjoyed your videos on the Super C restore. You are so meticulous on your work. And how you name your animals. I would be a bad farmer. I would get attached to them and not was to sell them. Thank you for sharing how your farm is ran. Keep it up.

OMG the frustration I have been through with this style of insulators trying to put them on the t posts! Now I know why. I was blaming the insulator for being made to short, actually they are to short for all of my t posts even the ones I bought 10 - 30 years ago at another farm supplier. I had to look everywhere to find the old style insulators that actually fit, work & don’t break when hit by a animal or tree branch. At least now I know it’s not just me. Thanks Pete! Pasture is looking great! Spring flush is finally here.. yeaaa.

Pete, next time you buy T posts look at the flange. There should be either the number 133 or 125 stamped on the flange. Insulators are made to go on the 125s. The number is the weight of the post per foot of length. 1.33 pounds per foot or 1.25 pounds per foot.

HI there Pete. I understand your frustration with those metric posts. I was about half way through my schooling when New Zealand decided to change to the Metric System overnight! You talk about throwing a spanner in the works...they threw the whole toolbox in!. It affected every area of our lives...literally! It generated a group of people that were orphaned from their imperial ancestry and had to learn to converse with their new metric foster parents. The upshot...I still gauge someone's height in feet and inches but their weight in kilograms...go figure.

I'm sure you already know this, so this is for your viewers. With the egg insulator, the way you do it puts it under tension, which is fine for low tension wires. The way it is designed to be installed puts it under compression which is much stronger with a high load.

Mr. Larsen is too nice a person to say that those out-of-spec plastics came from Tractor Supply. As I'm about 15 years older, I can recall a time when things made in America were the standard of the world. But the gov't borrowed and sold the people of the US out to Asian nations. No US manufacturer would have sold those clips out the door. And if they did, they wouldn't be in business after all the defective stock robbed the customers and had to be purchased from someone with standards. How polite he is, given being taken by the manufacturer, the distributor, wholesaler and retailer of money HE had to earn.

A thing that can work on if you ever have issues with animals getting in or out is alternation the t posts 180 degrees each time. This way the insulators are facing two different directions and the wire is almost weaved in the posts. It makes for a stronger fence in my experience

Hello Pete! It does appear that you have purchased a lot of T-posts that have a significant amount of dimensional variation, but I used to mold millions and millions of the various yellow plastic insulators and I can tell you that it is possible for the insulators to have a lot of dimensional variation, as well. The molding process is pretty standard, but the resin itself can be affected by running the mold too hot or too cold ot too fast or too slow. Most of the insulator breakage probably happens during the coldest days of the year. When polypropylene and/or polyethylene are exposed to cold, they become brittle. They are quite flexible when the weather is either warm or hot. Not sure what brand of insulatos you are using, but I molded some for Red Snapper brand and Perky Pet brand. It is likely that they are all molded in China by now, but there may still be some being molded in or around Knoxville, TN. Have a great day!!! You are such a pleasure to watch with your upbeat attitude!!! Best Wishes to you and your family.

I love the many many videos you have done. And as I stated in a earlier comment. I have learned a lot from you. When it comes to fencing, that's where we differ. I am a get the best equipment that will require the least amount of upkeep to guard, protect and corral my livestock. Less time I spend repairing and replacing fencing is money and time well spent and well saved. I don't believe in any trees being within close proximity of fencing to cause any damage and thus so allows me to keep that area cut done to proper grass height. Predators, both 4 legged and 2 legged always look for hiding places and breakage in fencing. Deer occasionally gets on the pasture. But never has the fence needed repairing. I get to check that every 2 weeks on lawn maintenance. Cutter head gets in and under lower run and pivots around each post with spring action that allows me to stay in straight line and not constantly back up n manover around the post when cutting. Best investment anyone who cuts and maintain their property.

Regarding repairing you electrical fence, I suggest that you get ceramic insulators as used before the 'age of plastics'. They definitely worked back then, and lasted for decades unlike disintegrating plastics used these days - UV sunlight breaking them down, making them brittle with a decade. From a Dane frequenting the 200-year old family farm before moving to Alberta, Canada in 1974.
