If not there are plenty of detectors on the market that will provide a notification to your phones. Don't know if the automatic propane shut off valves designed for RV's will work in your situation You probably need an automatic shut off if you're at work

Firstly I love your honesty, when you make a mistake you don't edit it out which helps others to not make the same mistake. I'm also really impressed that you can both work full time jobs AND give all the animals the attention and care they deserve before freezer camp. Keep up the great work, I look forward to every video you post. All my best wishes for the future, Neil ❤❤❤

Looks like a job well done. However, I would recommend a strap be added to the top of the heater in the kennel to prevent the dogs from accidentally tipping it over. And with the one in the workshop I would add a screw at the bottom of the unit to make sure it isn't accidentally lifted off of it's mounting bracket. ( It'll also come in handy at holding things in place in case of an earthquake. 😏)

I'm sure not trying to tell you how to do your job, but you might consider checking out the installation instructions. I've installed CSST multiple times. hey Evan, can i suggest that when running gas piping, to install the shut off valve before the "T" instead of in the "branch" line as you did. that way when it comes time to clean out the debris in the "DEAD LEG or DIRT LEG" or when service is needed on the appliance, you can shut off the gas local to the work needed instead of the main gas line. also i commented a while back that it would have been better to install a ground mount for the solar so snow can be removed from it without climbing up onto the shop roof. stay warm up there in the cold country. jim in central florida

I used to work for a propane company and went through training to be a tech (installer). The "yellow poly" gas line we used "had to" have a protective sleeve over it when it came out of the ground and was exposed to "UV light". The "poly" was great in some situations but we opted to use copper most times unless corrosion was an issue (due to soil conditions, normally) or conductivity was a concern. After watching this seeing that's the line with a steel core you should be safe to use that throughout the whole shop. Not sure why you opted to bury that but it works. Good video.
@CountryViewAcres9 ай бұрын
The flexible stainless steel gas line was only used inside the building. Underground from the propane tank to workshop is coated copper tubing.
@bradh749 ай бұрын

Great Video. As someone that did that work for 32 years I thought you did a great job. Two thing that you might want to think about for future. If you place the shut off valve on the the main drop(within 6 ft of Appliance ) you would be able to do Pressure test at the Drip ( small nipple at bottom of black iron drop ) without turning off gas at tank. Be careful using ventless heaters. As long as the oxygen depletion sensor works they are are fine little units. Also watch to make sure that you have enough pressure to operate properly, You can have pressure but when the unit kicks on it will not have the volume to substain the unit. This is most notable in continuous cold weather. This is do to pipe diameter and length of run
@CountryViewAcres9 ай бұрын
That's the bad part of the CSST is it has less BTUs per length of pipe than black pipe of the same size. Right now I am at about at max BTUs for the length of pipe I ran. But I should be ok.
@flossdaly82749 ай бұрын
Great job Evan. The CSST must be permanently bonded directly to the grounding electrode system of the electrical service of the home in which the CSST is installed.
