the script is more of a comedy than a western, and did they plagiarize zoro or the scarlet pimpernel for the duel identity ? the whole thing is a joke

That’s not a plagiarism of the Scarlet Pimpernel. Percy Blakeney pretended to be a fool and a weakling in the Pimpernel. In this movie, Steve was framed to be a bought man. The Pimpernel saves Aristos from the guillotine during the French Revolution. Here the Durango Kid is rescuing cattleman money before the robbers can lift it. Durango Kid movies are classic B Westerns that combine action, country western music, and comedy relief. This isn’t Stagecoach or the Searchers.
