In this video, a ride along is recorded with Security Officer Parsons as he drives on the I-15 in Las Vegas, Nevada towards the Aria Casino. They are headed to one of the properties that Unity One, Inc. patrols.
Officer Parsons talks about the duties of a patrol officer and what it means to be a patrol sergeant. The main goal of every agent at Unity One, Inc. is to always keep everyone safe. This means officers may have to stop people from trying to hop over the walls of the property and being alert of who comes through the area.

What is so annoying about illiterate People is that they can only find negatives in positive jobs. Anyway. Patrol Officers do look in their rear view mirrors, behind them, to the sides of them, and forward to make sure things are not being broken into in Buildings and other places that they patrol. It is their job. It does not associate with paranoia or discomfort for the irritating People who only find fault in jobs instead of working. It is a shame how People have to be educated on obvious things as if they have been taking wayyy too many chemicals. Moving on....

if you are a security guard and not deputized your job can be boiled down to 3 words observe and report and thats it thats what a police officer told my security class that he was teaching

Your police office trainer informed you wrong. You are allowed as much authority as deligated by the client I.e the property owner. You are allowed to only use equal force to that which is given to you. Also the authority given by each state differ. In Colorado security officers can pull you over run your plates 28/27 check and there is a company by the name of Denver Metro Protection Services, look them up on KZbin. They actually conduct transports of arrestees and criminals to court. If you loom in PA there are security companies patrolling entire counties and to boot not every state requires POST certification for private security to perform police duties. The guy who replied to you is a cop or security hater. Police universally hate security officers as they feel security is impersonating them whixh is far from the truth. In truth its the other way around. The first law enforcement agency in history of america is Pinkerton Security which was also the first private military. Every police agency is modeled after the pinkerton rail police model up until the 60's. So so your research and this is a warning to all. Most states are now charging people with assault on a Leo for assaulting SEO's. The days of observe and report are gone security outnumbers police 10/1 and protwct everything from malls to military bases. If you ask me security guards are the real unsung heroes. They die more often then police in the line of duty and tbere are no long parades flags given or news coverage. I was a private police lieutenant for 15 years and I tell you there were places i and my officers workwd alone were they wouldnt send no less than 5 cops. Security literally secures 🇺🇸

Not all states and companies do observe and report methods. Where I’m from, they’re useless. Our company allows us to place people in custody for police interception.

Depends on country laws, state laws, security company policies & client policies. I'm Aussie from New South Wales and we can make citizens arrest (some states refer to it as detaining but it's the same thing) and I work security and I have worked mobile patrols for 3 different companies. 1 only accepted clients that wanted us to us to trespass people that shouldn't be on site & arrest offender for any law they may break on the client property and the security company actually wanted us to arrest offenders as well as help out the general public where we can provided it didn't interfere with out paying clients. 1 company took clients that preferred we observe & report but were ok with us intervening where we deemed necessary (mainly if there was a risk to human life) and the third was a shirt filler company that only accepted clients that only wanted us to observe & report and call the emergency services and too never get involved and this company never wanted us to get involved in anything and wanted us to allow client properties to get vandalized and broken into. Security comes in many forms all depending on the type off security you do......are you a bouncer, retail security guard, body guard, gate house guard, mobile patrol guar and so on. Different countries have different laws surrounding what a guard can & can not do but so do the different states within a country but then the security companies have different procedures that they feel is what that particular security job is meant to be and so do the different clients. Mobile patrol security is essentially privatized police in the sense that they patrol clients properties actually looking for offenders as well as responding to issues on client properties much the same way police respond to calls for assistance from the public. However I think using military or police ranks is stupid and makes you look like you're trying to be something you're not and makes you look like an idiot and it gives a bad name to this profession.....it doesn't make you look professional. A effective guard knows how to walk the line that separates security from police and still stay on their side off the line. Mobile patrol security guards are out on the roads in the dead off night so we should also be looking out for potential trouble that is a risk to the general public and properties that are not our clients and get involved if it is safe & legal to do so to keep the general public safe and to assist police where we can.

This is my current job in san diego area, its crazy busy with the homeless an my boss is, well, he is bullshit, im patrolling 13 properties at night 3 times a night, he claims it can be done in 8 hours, thats bullshit, without any single break yeah, an if you dont run into any single problem, but every night i kick ppl out of certain really bad properties . I used to be a personal bodyguard because of my extensive mma training an this is my first time patrolling but im wondering if other companies do this to there guards? Its almost abuse, if i go over 1 hour because of issues he don't want to pay it or acts like the hour didn't register, i have a gun permit an a gun but i dont use it i always leave it in the car, i feel more comfortable without it, i am a brown belt in jiujitsu. I need advice from other security guards on this matter. Is this normal in this job

i train at intensity mma in south san diego, i teach a jiujitsu class there full of military and few cops, have a fight coming up in vegas again in nov, come check me out, and the job actually pays 18+ but on weekends as a personal guard i get paid from 500 to 800 in a few hours, i dont ask question who im escorting from place to place, i just guard the person, what would you know about any of this, you hide behind your keyboard. you know where im at, come spar with me any day of the week boy. ill let you spar with one of my students, he is a white belt from the navy, really aggressive guy, but you have better chances with him then with me.
