Another theory is that they were exposed to infrasound, which is a low frequency sound that is below the normal limit of human hearing. It’s highly likely that the winds caused infrasound because of their location around the mountains. Sometimes being exposed to this can actually cause psychosis, panic and hysteria. Maybe they left their tent due to that, as it causes great mental discomfort, and couldn’t find a way back and then died of hypothermia/a small avalanche!

yes, i actually think it is a very good and realistic theory. And about tongue - some russian expert says "probably animals, if these injuries occured while alive there would be bruises on the skin and hemorrhage in the soft tissues". i don't even think the tongue thing is so strange
@andrewshepherd11987 жыл бұрын
Alexandra I also believe this theory not only do I find it interesting its actually really plausible, its been proven that Infrasound can happen in this particular area and as it wasn't known of till the 60's the hikers would have had no clue as to what was happening by the affects of Infrasound, it has been known to send people into panic, chills and even dread so for them to flee the tent down into the forest they would have certainly been out of the way of it but then died of hypothermia as to the missing tonuge and eyeballs this can easily be explained by animals.

I think it was carbon monoxide poisoning. When winter camping, it's really common for campers to cook inside their tents in order to keep warm. However, if the exhaust pipe is dirty or not properly set up, it can cause a buildup of fumes inside the tent, which can cause a buildup of carbon monoxide. From the look of the photos, if the party was having problems with fires catching in the exhaust pipe, it probably means it was filled with debris and hadn't been cleaned in a while. An obstruction in the exhaust pipe could easily fill up the tent with carbon monoxide without the hikers realizing it. Some of the symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning include: loss of consciousness, blurred vision, confusion, shortness of breath, nausea or vomiting, dizziness, weakness ,and dull headache. It doesn't make sense that it was just smoke that caused the hikers to cut their tent and walk casually away, wouldn't they be in a better state of mind than that and notice the smoke piling up in their tent?Instead, the hikers don't realize what is happening and continue eating, but they are becoming more and more lethargic and confused due to the buildup of carbon monoxide. One of the hikers might have realized what was happening while they were eating, but because he was in a confused state, he cut the tent open rather than simply opening the door. He had to convince the rest of the hikers to get up and get out of the tent, but they were all lethargic and confused, so that's why the footprints leading away from the tent appear to just be walking.At this point, it was probably dark outside. The hikers start walking, but they still aren't completely in their right minds, so they accidentally start to drift away from one another as they enter the forest. I should mention that there are current studies by the National Institutes of Health investigating the delayed toxicity effects of carbon monoxide poisoning. It's 1959 when this event occurs, so the effects of carbon monoxide poisoning and how to prevent them are still poorly understood, if at all. The hikers don't know about the potential downstream effects of CO poisoning, much less what actually happened in the first place in the tent. These effects could play a role in the hikers' disorientation and confusion.An hour or so probably passes, and the two guys underneath the tree come to and realize where they are, but don't exactly remember how they got there. They begin to get frantic, realizing they don't have shoes. One of them attempts to climb the tree to find camp, and the other starts making a fire. They're getting hypothermic, and desperate. Finally, they succumb to the cold and die from hypothermia, being unable to find the camp.Three other members of the party come to and begin to follow their footsteps back to the camp. Again, it's cold, and they don't have shoes, so they start suffering from hypothermia. Confusion is also a symptom of hypothermia, but they are desperate to get back to the tent. They start drifting away from one another as they walk, and one by one, they succumb to hypothermia.The party found inside the snow shelter survived the longest. In their carbon monoxide-induced confusion, they are still better off than the others in that they decide to make a snow shelter. However, due to their lack of judgement at the time, they make their shelter in an avalanche-prone ravine. Things are ok for a while, though. They wake up the next day and realize how cold they are. Some of the party makes their way back to where the guys under the tree are. Realizing they are dead, they turn them on their sides and take their clothes in order to keep warm. For some reason, they aren't able to track their prints back to camp, so instead they return to the snow shelter. On the way back to the shelter, a member of the party triggers a small avalanche, which injures the remaining members of the party in the snow shelter. The member who triggered the avalanche is able to save the ones who were injured because they were only partially buried. Instead of moving the shelter, they remake their shelter in the same spot, because it is in a weather-protected ravine and the loose snow has already been triggered so it won't happen again.The remaining members of the party bundle up using the clothes from the men under the tree and wait it out. For days. The individuals injured in the avalanche eventually succumb to their injuries, and the remaining members die of hypothermia. Potentially before they died, they were desperate for food. The woman with the chest injury was the first to die, and they cut out her tongue to eat. However, they don't continue their cannibalism because they decide they would rather die than eat another person (think Donner party-type situation here).I know this kind of a gross theory, but it's the one that makes the most sense to me given the evidence!

The theory that I believe the most is one that wasn't mentioned so I'll put it here. So this theory is called the Infrasound theory. So the theory goes that the mountain by which they set up their tent was able to direct the wind into a vortex called a Kármán vortex street, which are able to produce infrasounds. Infrasounds are low frequency sounds and have been known to cause panic attacks in humans. It's possible that these sounds made the hikers panic as they had never experienced them before, and the mental distress resulted in them fleeing the tent. By the time they would have been out of the infrasounds path and calmed down, they were disoriented in the dark. The 3 victims who suffered the injuries would have stumbled over the ledge of the ravine and landed on the rocks below. This is was caused their severe injuries, and a fall like this could have easily caused the woman who lost her tongue to severe or bite it off with her own teeth when she hit the ground. Even if the ones who didn't quickly die of hypothermia know where the tent was, they might have been too freaked out to go back and grab their stuff, or they knew the shelter was trashed and there was no point since they were already better dressed then the others. Back then, even with how experienced some of the hikers were, they wouldn't have known about infrasounds as they were first studied in the early 60s after they had already died. With the political climate in a place like the Soviet Union, theories about aliens becoming increasingly popular at the time, or even if they had encountered/seen the Mansi people that day, it's not crazy to think that a really strange noise like that combined with the fact that the frequency of the sound messes with your head, could have caused them to flee.

She should do a video on the Pike County Ohio murders in 2016. 8 victims killed (aged 16-50) execution style with only 3 kids (aged 4days 6 months and 3years) surviving. The case hasn’t got much attention. And they still haven’t found the killer. But have many theory’s as to what happened. They was killed on their family farm and one killing a mile away, but all on the same day. They investigated 50 people with no further leads. On the land they found a green house growing 22,000 marijuana plants in it. And suspected the Mexican drug cartel. They assume the killings also have something to do with the family killed 100 miles away in another county. Who was well known drug dealers killed the same way (execution style, shot in the head) It’s still a running investigation, but haven’t got many new leads. I feel as if the case gets more attention than it has they might be able to solve it. 🖤 much love 🖤

Assuming it was a gas stove (likely for camping/ hiking etc) they may have not turned the gas off properly, meaning that there was an excess of carbon monoxide (a deadly gas that binds to the haemoglobin in red blood cells to stop oxygen getting round the body) in the tent and maybe someone woke up as heard the “whooshing” of the gas exiting, this could also explain the slow walk away and once you exit the enclosed environment there is no longer any danger- this would explain the deaths closer to the camp site (like if they inhaled more). Also the forward collapse and the then turning would be explained by the others taking their clothing. But my theory doesn’t explain the crushing? Also I’m sure they would have tested the blood as I’m sure you can see it? But then again is testing (what I assume to have been previously frozen) blood accurate???

I was thinking it could have been a bear or something like that - and when the hikers heard their friends warn them about it, they could have cut their way out of the tent and slowly walked away (since you're not supposed to run when there's a bear around)... it could have made some sense seeing as they were eating and the smells could have attracted the animal's attention? Also why two of the hikers tried to climb the tree.... maybe to get away from it or to be able to look back at the campsite to see if it was gone? I don't know! But then, the smoke in the tent seems like the most likely theory, to be honest. Just wanted to throw a theory out there since it wasn't mentioned!
@slavbarbie6 жыл бұрын
My first though was a bear, the climbing of the tree and the injuries on bodies. But apparently there was no paw prints. But that would be a most believable explanation for me.

That would be the only video of hers I would never watch. It's not true crime for one, and I hate that case because of the all the people mocking "a dingo ate my baby" in a fake Australian accent. It's such a disturbing tragedy for a baby to be LITERALLY eaten and torn apart limb from limb. I can't imagine being the mother and hearing her baby girl's death become a worldwide joke. It never became a joke to say "Albert Fish ate my baby lollllllll!!!" (and thank goodness for that, but it doesn't make the former any better)

Bella, I think I can explain the footsteps away from the tent being so slow. Since it was below zero outside and they weren't wearing anything they were walking because they were so cold. That may have made it hard to run so that may explain why they walked...
@brentlionakaboldchamp3 жыл бұрын
And it would have been slippery, as well. Its difficult to run on a slope on snow-covered ground.
@Edmonton-of2ec3 жыл бұрын
@@brentlionakaboldchamp That’s true too. They may have walked up the hill in relative ease in their gear, but with nothing on it would be difficult to get down the hill
@brentlionakaboldchamp3 жыл бұрын
@@Edmonton-of2ec And it being slippery may explain some of the injuries of a few of the members, because they likely would have been falling a lot, and it’s easy to bump your head, or injury yourself another way. I think Katabolic winds is what caused them to first leave the tent, though, as they were only holding the tents up with their own skies, which against the Katabolic winds was no match and also there would have been objects being swept to and fro, probably hitting the tent, so they cut their way out.

The last theory doesn't explain why they left their belongings there cause if they escaped fro the tent the smoke would dissipate very quickly and they would realise it wasn't a fire very quickly and not have ventured that far away or left things
@bawattsyl7 жыл бұрын
agreed, this fire theory doesn't make sense.. they were surrounded by snow, and no fire damage to articles in tent so even if there was a small fire, you would just throw snow on it, not abandon all your gear. if you rationally think about this, the only thing that could have caused them to walk into the wilderness (to almost certain death) at the temps, and conditions.. you'd either have to be forced or getting away from something such as the parachute mines discussed on several sites.. the case all revolves around the tent, people get caught up in the radiation, tongue, etc, but in reality, if you can figure out why they would leave the tent, you've got it solved.. the girl missing her tongue, was the only one found laying face down in a stream, this can easily account for why soft tissues were missing.. infra sound theory, nice thought, but that affects different people in different ways.. and the odds of it making them all go crazy at the same time, is virtually impossible.
@chinkans6 жыл бұрын
they were experienced hikers nine of them with pair of hands and snow was all around they could have used the snow to extinguish the smoke or fire

this case has always fascinated me. There's so many things that can only be supernatural, like hypothermia wouldn't rip the girl's tongue out and animals wouldn't just eat parts of her and leave the rest behind. None of the theories that you pointed out are 100% possible, they don't explain why Ludmila's tongue was cut out with a knife and her eyeballs were removed with surgical precision...

Thanks for this fascinating video about this most mysterious case. The stove theory does sound most likely, but something else struck me. You mentioned that the Mansi people were in the habit of eating / smoking or whatever you do with magic mushrooms. Could it be that the hikers obtained something of the sort from the Mansi, and were hallucinating? This would explain why they wandered away from their tent in various states of undress.
