why haven't unsung done anything on them yet? This has to be one of the greatest tragedy of a superstar potential groups ever that was not pushed by Motown. Berry Gordy did us a dissatisfaction by shelving them instead of pushing them to the front like The Jackson 5, and Temptations. Bad judgment Barry. We got robbed of superstar talent for what ever reason Barry made to not push them harder

They had a major push by Motown but it was some radio stations especially R&B radio stations that didn't want to play the Dynamic Superiors because of lead singer Tony Washington being openly gay at the time.

My roommate back in college 1975-1977 would put his speakers in the dorm's windows that faced the outside campus and would blast the Dynamic Superiors. He loved this group and would say how he wished he could sing because each time he would play Leave it Alone and Hit and Run Lover he would exhaust his vocal cords trying to emulate Mr. Tony Washingtion's voice but failed each time. This group one of my favorites. RIP brother Tony and thanks for the great music!

The Dynamic Superiors were from Washington, D. C. and recorded on Motown Records label. The songs on their first two albums were mostly written by the husband-and-wife team Ashford & Simpson. They recorded with moderate success throughout the 1970s. One of their bestselling hits was "Shoe, Shoe Shine" in 1975. They were unique in that Tony Washington was openly gay, and sometimes dressed in drag onstage.

I used to pass through Washington DC by Greyhound Bus.It would stop in DC for an hour or so.I remember watching those TVs that you had to.pay for.I remember one Saturday Morning around August 1975 I was watching a Black Show that they used to show in my NJ area, but would Show it 11.30 pm.It was on at 12 noon in DC,and I remember The Dynamic Superiors being on at the Show. The name of the Show is on the tip of my tongue and I can't say it.Can someone refresh my memory...

This group doesn't get the credit they deserve. Tony can straight out sing one of the best. Also Ashford & Simpson is one of the best song writers off all time. Barry Gordon should be shouting there name from the mountain top. they written those his first Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell, Diana Ross, Gladys Knight &Pips, Chaka Khan, Teddy Pendergrass and on and on.
