Love it. In the future, you should pre clearance the front oil pump pickup where the chain inevitably hits. Even with brand new oil pump chains and tensioner, the chain will slowly hit the front pickup and put metal through the oil system. I've gone through several S54s and sanding down the pickup to help reduce chain/pickup slapping has always helped.

Oh damn, thats such a good point. I've indeed saw it on every old S54 ive opened. I went with a new oem pump just in case. We'll see it when I check for bearings again in a few 1000km. Just a shame these damn S54s are so crazy expensive 💀💀

@GRAUSLICK agreed. I pulled my oil pump out of my turbo s54 track car after 5,000 miles (rebuilt S54) and it had a huge gash in the pickup. Just did RB's on a stock s54 with 105k miles on it and it only had a little gash on it. My guess is if the car sees a ton of high rpm driving, the worse the pickup will look.

Wait what 😂, really? I know the original STW shape can be bought. But the fitment is ...not perfect and its much larger so it extends into the lower part of the dashboard. Unless my google skills failed me and we made something that already exists 😂😅

Hey Thiago, I waited a bit writing a reply because I didn't want to spend an hour typing on that stupid mobile phone haha! You being one of the very first subscribers makes me really apreciate all the support! For the S54 we've went with JE Pistons (slightly overbore due to wear on the cilinders) in a 12.5 compression ratio. Initially i went with SCRICK cams but they offered 0 information on how long the delivery time was going to be, after waiting 6 months I canceled the order and went to CATCAMS, in the end much better as they not only make the camshafts, but also custom rocker arms, AND a custom oil gallery that lubes the rockers, unlike the ones SCHRICK uses (they just buy OEM rocker arms and COAT them, they then cost like 2-3k euro for JUST the rocker arms...oops. Haha. The cam specs are 288/280, pretty much the biggest you can go WITHOUT losing the vanos, I did not want to sacrifice the low end for a tiny bit up top. For the rest the head is pretty stock, just new valve guides, some maintance, valves regrinded, some replaced. For the cooling setup I got something really cool coming in the next episode! Or the one after that.... I dont know yet haha! Thanks for the support and offer, I don't think we'll feel comfable just taking money from people to spend on our own personal "dreams". Unless we can actually give something in return like Merch or something like that. But honestly we're too busy for that right now. Time is already short. 30:01 I hate to be this guy, but if you take a dremel to carbon, it's a good idea to do it outside, or somewhere with good ventilation. Airborne fibers are very dangerous for your lungs, and they can persist in a room for a long time.
