Freshly divorced in the early '70s, this group saved my life. 'Already Gone' was an anthem for me. 50 years later now and I can't stand to hear about all the fights, betrayals, manipulation. No word, how Frey and Henley treated Don Felder...but one word from me, concerning Henley: it was at the "Out in the Green-Concert" in 2011 in Wiesbaden, Germany, when Henley "generously" allowed the audience to take pictures. But he didn´t allow videoclips. Quote:" I don´t think I have to explain the meaning of the word to you..." Security-dudes were running up and down the seats rowes, yelling at people with video cameras in their hand while the band was performing on stage...

Linda Ronstadt seemed to be a big help to them in the beginning. She knew them at the Troubadour in CA. That was right before rock bands began to be a mix of men/women in the United States. Think of Fleetwood Mac, Heart and Pat Banatar for example. Women broke the mold and changed rock forever. I bet you money the Eagles preferred men only. I'd like to know if LInda would have wanted to be part of the group, but I bet she was never asked.
