A month and a half. I think personally that you should say I love you basically when all you want is the next words out of your mouth to be those words, yknow? When you feel so deeply for them and you know that saying it is so important to you. Even if someone doesn't say it back, you should always say it. It's beautiful to be in love. I have personally dated a few people in my life. I have loved all of them but only told two of them. Thankfully, the second person I told loved me back truly and we are still very happily in love and will be. I knew I loved the others and that one loved me but I was never brave enough to say it. But everything happens for a reason, yknow? And I couldn't be happier saying it to my boyfriend now.

Why... is this such a big thing you say after about a year? I met a boy on holiday, we were fifteen and seventeen at the time, and after spending about 4 days together, we said it. So much can happen when you spend the better part of a week together. I don't think that time necessarily is a factor in love. You could get to know a person extremely well after a month of spending a mass amount of time with them. There shouldn't be that stigma of saying it 'too early', especially with the person you are with. I think there's something wrong if you're scared of telling the person you are with that you love them.

I never say "I love you" unless I mean it. I won't tell someone that I love them if I really don't. If someone I know has read or heard me say "i love you.", it's probably to a family member or my best friend. If someone says "i love you" to me, (like a friend) than i'd probably say 'love ya' 'love you' 'i love ya' 'ily' but never the full I LOVE YOU.

I also don't consider the 'I love you' to be too different from 'I am in love with you'. The meaning behind I love you and its intensity depends on who you say it to. I ended up liking (my boyfriend now) before we started dating. At the time i couldn't date and we were friends mainly by talking on AIM, but he did visit my house since he's my brothers friend. My boyfriend and I started dating because we both want to get married (I'm 22, he's 26 so we've wanted this for a long time). The dating process is only to see if we would be compatible in a marriage. Therefore, we already really liked each other when we started dating. And we said "I love you" after about a week or so. There was no question. But everyone is different. That's why it's important to be on the same page with someone before dating.

But loving someone means you know all the good and the bad in that person and you are willing to accept their flaws and you can share anything with them and vise versa. When you start dating it's more of a 'i like you' or 'i have a crush on you' than an 'i love you'. When you confess your love it kind of means that you believe your relationship is gonna last for a long time.
