I live in Ishikawa, about 2 hours away from the epicenter, and the earthquake was pretty crazy. I make Japan travel videos, and I was almost about to travel to Noto for a new video. Luckily, I have power and water now, but lots of my friends are still in emergency shelters. I have some friends who got trapped on the shinkansen too. We're still feeling aftershocks here in Ishikawa. Last night I got woken up half a dozen times fromthe shaking.

The news is showing what appears to be the entire city or town destroyed from fire. Is that true? And other news are mixing up scenes from the 2011 EQ. Very confusing for us foreigners. In any case, I hope all affected by the EQ are and will be helped and recover quickly. ❤ Sending love to the people of Japan.

Glad you're safe! One of my friends was near Tokyo and he messaged me during the quake. It wasn't bad where he was. It was only later that we realized it was pretty bad and it only seemed mild because he was so far away.
@pandakicker14 ай бұрын
I looked at the geography of Japan and there is a significant distance between where he is and the western coast. It would be deminished by the time it reached Tokyo, but the seismographs would've picked it up anyway. There was a 5.2 a little over 80 miles from me a month or so ago and I felt it at like a 4. There is no major mountain range between here and the epicenter as it was just further down the Rio Grande river basin from me. I heard it and felt it coming from down river. Tokyo, on the other hand, has a major mountain range between it and the epicenter of this quake, so it would be affected by that range being there more-so than it was for me. - a random Texan geology/seismology/volcanology/archaeology geek

@@Just_Call_Me_Tim Small earthquakes happen in Japan frequently, this wasn't a small earthquake, it was multiple earthquakes, one being a 7,6. It's rare to go above a 5, it was only a single magnitude away from the intensity of the 2011 accident that led to literally thousands of deaths. You are an adult, act like one. If you want completely pedantry we can analyze each other's sentences all day because statements like "so, yes" aren't proper sentences, they are fragments, you would get points off. But this is youtube (not an essay), and we're on a video speaking on a tragedy where over 20 are confirmed dead and millions in damages have been caused. You're a fucking idiot. Tell someone the (minimum) 20 people's families that lost someone, or the countless people who lost their houses and livelihoods, or the people who lost everything to the catastrophic fires that also broke out that "they'll be fine right on through." Get rid of the learn to lift videos and try some on reading the room you neanderthal.

Pray for the injured ones to have a good speedy recovery and pray for the family and friends of the ones that was lost. I've had to snakel my way over here Sora and so relieved to Buddha's belly you're totally okay! 💖 I've been keeping track on 4 different news videos including from Sun News about what has happened in Ishikawa and can't even imagine how daunting it must've felt for you Sora! The heartbreaking truth I've heard that you mentioned around 2:22 is that 4 people have died and over 100,000 are going to suffer from hyperthermia due to the lack of electricity being flowed through the preference due to the night temp being around 33°F or so from the Weather I've Googled and weeped about the news earlier this morning. 💔 If I could be Saitama to lend a helping hand to the Japanese of that prefecture that needed it most and making sure they have a place to stay, I would IMMEDIATELY! 👪🏃🎒🏩 Here in Phoenix, AZ, temps below 60°F is already dangerous considering how I can develop frostbite and a runny nose at 55°F and needing to wear my Naruto Shippuden Jacket when the temp hits below 70°F. That's before nightfall of course as it gets frigid extremely quick because of the Sonoran Desert Arid Climate and our temperatures are sorta bipolar throughout the winter. ❄ I'm just relieved you're doing okay and having a roof under your head Sora since I've became an active viewer on your livestream since your New Year stream of that man you've talked to and the fingering butthole lol but giggles aside. Japan will always be my favorite country due to the animes, Buddhist & Shinto culture that I deeply admire since I sorta practice Buddhist morals myself, and the generous acts of huge beating hearts that most countries take for granted and that lacks maturity of gratefulness as well. 💞 *PS:* I've first heard about this earthquake incident on Reddit of a Japanese man at a bowling alley and it was so surreal to see how a magnitude 7.6 can be that trembling as I remembered the 2011 earthquake that I don't want to go into deep detail my history class brought up back in my Junior Year in high school! 🎳 *PLEASE KEEP US UPDATED AS MUCH AS YOU CAN SORA!* 📰 Mon. Jan. 1st. 2024 @ 8:43pm. 🗻
