Your bolt-removal videos are the best. It would be good to see the technique in which the bolt is totally drilled-away and taken out in pieces (ideally without too much damage to the threads). Where the bolt is truly stuck this is sometimes the only solution.

I must admit that when I was an adult apprentice, I had a go at doing this on a steel frame that was rusty and covered in a chemical coating, as this was a regular occurrence. Normally we would just leave the broken bolt and weld the frame, but I once tried drilling it and removing it, and to my surprise it came out. I then tried about 4 times after that occasion and never could get the bolts out again- so just welded the frames LOL 😂

It depends how the bolt has broken in the first place, if it's rusty and the head has sheared off when trying to loosen the bolt, it can be impossible to remove them! Sometimes the left-handed drill bits work, so I normally give them a try first. Thanks for the comment

Good day from Canada. I have a steel bolt that snapped off in the intake manifold on a V8 from GM. Unfortunately the whole was drilled out off center. I have only done an extraction a few times and I find the extractor that I use does not work for me. Probably inexperience, regardless I have been successful in drilling close to the threads and tapping it out slowly. I am looking for options and ideas for removing it. One I came up with was to get in there with a file and try to true up the hole. Any Ideas from anyone reading these comments, or You, The Ultimate Handyman. Thank you

@@daithi007 Blimey, how much pressure do you need to compress a flour and sugar mixture? You can get a lot of pressure between the jaws of the vice, just by tightening the handle. I use mine all the time for bending metal, or pressing in components. Examples here- kzbin.info/www/bejne/ip6Xi6Nnh9F6qc0 kzbin.info/www/bejne/iaXClpacmLOSiaM As long as you are not exerting too much pressure on the vice, it should easily do what you need.
