I wish more coating companies would use the syringe. I had some leftover Gloss Coat sitting in the fridge for about 18 months and it still looked clear and worked perfectly for an old car I'm cleaning up to sell. I realize that isn't recommended if you are doing a paid coating job (and a detailer would never have it around that long anyways), but its great for DIY guys that have coating leftover.

Great follow-up video to the one made a couple years ago, that was my guidance that I used for my Ram when I gloss coated it last month. I noticed maintenance wasn't discussed in this video. I have since been doing ONR & Opti-Seal for a maintenance wash (doesnt take much to wash a coated car!). Perhaps you guys will make a follow-up on this? I know plenty of folks want to know how to care for their coated vehicle.

San Diego California, high end auto detail . Applied this coating to my black bmw 320i sedan at 1pm 78 degrees outside, hot paint. Coat worked 100% fine. This is the only coating I use as a mobile detailed. Although it took 14cc. Just on paint. I would get the 20cc just in case. Maybe since I did it in hot weather, it evaporates quickly. 1 min/ wipe off after apply. Used 3D one compound/polish which states there is no need for an ipa wipe down. Just coat after comp/polish... but I ipa wipe just to be safe.

The last video that Tunch did with AG, he stated a panel wipe was indeed necessary after using ONE. Like you, I always do a panel wipe before applying a ceramic coating. I like the Optimum line of polishes, but foe me 3D is more flexible, and their compounds finish out better for me. The 3D line seems to play well with Optimum wax, sealant, and coatings.

When we we see a detailed VLOG of Morgan, one step paint correcting, prepping and coating a vehicle. I think this would be a great series to show for those just learning. When producing the VLOG, please have her go through her decision process for each step. For example pad and polish selection. If a mistake is made please do not edit it out, we need to learn and most of us do not have Master Detailers an arm's length away to help trouble shoot.

Levi and Yvan, after talking with your folks this morning at Opti Coat they told me Opticoat Hyper Seal has Sio2 and for that reason, it would shed off within 30 days after applying it to my new car with Opti Coat Pro Plus (Whish is MAGNIFICENT, I must say). So my question is two-fold; Why use hyper seal if it is only going to last 30 days and secondly, will we have to throw away all of our towels that came in contact with the Si02 in Hyper Seal? ONR doesn't have it, right? I love your products and within the last week have bought every product PAN recommended for Opti Coat PRO PLUS. Did I say it was magnificent? :-)

I don't trust myself applying any of these products. They say that whatever is left under will show up. Plus let me add I am a 64 year old girl lol. Who knows nothing about a car but where to put gas. These carsclook as great that I have a new car who keeps her car for years...last Mercedes I had for 18 years and am crying in my soup for getting rid of it. One of the best cars i have ever had. With all that said I think that this product seems to be the best by far.

Great lighting and helped to see the Gloss Coat slowly dry on the surface. If we applying when humidity levels are above 85%, what is the normal wait time to use the pearl wipe-off method? I bought a ceramic coating and I clayed the car and polished it the car . The paint was in like new condition to begin with and didn’t need a lot of work . I didn’t use a paint cleaner like IPA or something similar before I applied the Ceramic coating . The coating seems to have stuck fine , have I just lowered the amount of tile the coating will last by now using a cleaner after the polish ? How important is that step to clean the paint , I didn’t feel like their were a lot of oils from the polish but I could be wrong ..

Hyper Seal would actually support the Gloss Coat, and deliver additional sio2 and sic. Anything else would likely be shed by Gloss Coat. I have used Opti-Seal and Optimum Car Wax on top of Gloss Coat in the past.

I think i am missing somethimg, why use ONR to remove polishing oils, if you use Paint Prep that can, as mentioned, remove waxes and oils? It believe that it is great for removing the polishing residu with extra lubrication for reducing micromarring, but the next step with with the Paint Prep can inflict micromarring instead i think? Is the ONR not a wast of money than? Please enlighten me :)

Wiping off the polish residue with an ONR dampened towel makes removal easier, and lessens the chance for any additional marring. Paint Prep is sprayed on the damp paned and is used as a drying aid / panel wipe combo. Even on its own, Optimum Paint Prep offers plenty of lubrication while used in the traditional method.

I see that Yvan says "Tap tap tap" to dispense product onto the applicator in order to dispense the approximate "correct" amount of product for application. For some off the wall chance that I did put more product onto the applicator than Yvan or Levi recommends, would it matter? I am just curious here because I always tend to use way more product that I probably need. Yvan says that an 8 oz bottle of Optiseal does about 50 cars. Well, I use Optiseal on my vehicles (Great product in it's own right by the way) and probably could get 20 applications from a bottle. I know, WAY too much product probably, but it works for me the way I apply it. Anyway, Yvan or Levi, is dispensing a little more product onto the applicator OK as long as I conduct the wipe down in the prescribed manner? Or will it make the applicator gunk up with too much product too soon? I am definitely going to be getting me some Opti-coat ASAP and giving it a try. Optimum Polymer Technologies has some of the absolute BEST and most user friendly products on the market today for the home vehicle detailer. There is such a dizzying aray of products, polishers, pads, microfiber towels, coatings, etc that it is very difficult to select a good set of products that work in unison with each other. Optimum has created a seamless set of products that work extremely well together and are a great value for the money. Sure, there may be better coatings, or easier to apply, or...whatever, but Optimum know's their stuff (probably more so than just about anyone else out there) when it comes to designing, inventing, and bringing to market great products, that are easy to use, and have a very good value.

@@danlc95 Yes, I agree, very user friendly stuff. One of the easiest sealants to apply, hands down. Probably about a month of good durability and then just wipe another coat on (after you wash the vehicle of course) in a matter of minutes and you are good to go once again.

@@danlc95 No, I was talking about OPTI-SEAL spray sealant. Gloss coat is an actual COATING which should provide a year or more or whatever Optimum says on that one. I believe it is several years. They have very good coatings and was one of the first companies here in the USA to offer a COATING product for detailers around the USA and abroad could use and apply professionally.

That’s correct, either a mechanical decontamination, or for a chemical decontamination you can follow these steps. Wash with Optimum No Rinse(ONR), apply Optimum Power Clean ( air foamer 3/1, Foam lance pure) , avoiding windows. Allow Optimum Power Clean to dwell, rinse off. Apply FerreX, allow to dwell, agitate with an Optimum No Rinse(ONR) dampened Towel. Rinse Apply MDR with an Optimum No Rinse(ONR) dampened towel, agitate, allow to dwell, Rinse. Wash with Optimum No Rinse(ONR), use Opti-Seal or Opti-Coat Hyper Seal as a drying aid.

The pearl towel is a nice coating towel. Seems to work with a majority of various coatings I have been using. I do prefer to follow up with an edgeless 300 for that final buff. You will like both towels.

I applied Opti-Seal 1 hour after using Gloss Coat as recommended. It killed the coating. Barely hydrophobic and water was flat on the panels in a month 🤷🏻‍♂️

How did you prep the vehicle? How are you washing the vehicle? Those two steps are very important in narrowing why you're having trouble with the coating. :)
