Omg thank you, marking the first stitch with a stitch marker helped so much
@zareien229010 ай бұрын
Some friendly advice: your entry level is all over the place. You specify (rightly) that a marker can go on the first or the last stitch of a round. I have never done ANY sort of crochet or knitting and i understood that. BUT, things that i didnt undertand: What is a slip knot ? What is a chain? What counts as a stitch? What do you mean by over the hook? (PLEASE SLOW DOWN YOUR HANDS) when doing your first real stitch, where you you push the hook in? How do you stop the yarn sliding off the hook (i.e. hook direction Its like, the first knot loop thing you do is the perfect speed, everything else feels like it goes at lightning speed with no break in between . Like those drawings that are like 1. Draw a circle, 2. Draw another circle, 3. Add detail, congrats youve drawn a horse. Im really grateful you put the time into making this, but it very much feels like youre trying to teach people that have zero knowledge, but posess the eyes of a crocheter. To those of us watching this video, this is a pile of spaghetti. You need to slow down and teach us the anatomy and terminology of the stitch
@sneakypuppy677810 ай бұрын
exactly and it doesnt help a beginner when they look in the chat and evryone gets it (beginner or not) this was quite frustrating for me and i feel like she’s trying to teach beginers but it feel targeted towards people who know how to make a magic circle and i trying to improve them not learn from scratch also for you i suggest learning chains and single crochets before magic rings because that’s what i did and this is still very confusing

But if you don't know what a slip knot, single crochet or any other basic stitch is then you need to start with learning those before moving on to something that is more than basic. Need to learn how to do the chain before doing anything else. This video isn't meant to teach how to do the most basic stitch. There are many, many tutorials to learn to crochet.
@zareien229010 ай бұрын
@@julieharris146 it's part of starting the magic circle. Starting a magic circle can be explained in a single sentence without video if you already know everything else. But they made a video to make it accessible to beginners. In addition, how am I supposed to learn those things if I haven't gotten the information on how to START a piece??? Crochet is not something you can start at step 5 and then learn step 1 afterwards The videos by the Woobles are VERY clear in their video in this topic, both with their terminology and their actions in the video. I recommend to the creator to check out some of those videos to see how they can make their tutorial more beginner friendly

Hey Melissa!!!! The Slip knot method is a bit different and there is a time and place for the slip knot (or I like to call it the "Ch 2 and Single crochet in 2nd Ch from hook" method! LOL. I am a magic circle kinda gal but sometimes the slip knot is a little better for chunky yarn so you don't break the yarn by tugging and it tends to lay flatter!
