Me too. 3 or 4 attempts to get it to work under XP in virtual box got me nowhere. It didn't appear exactly like the video but I managed to get it to install. Now the driver hunt begins.

Just a quick follow-up Evan. I found the procedure to re-code the ABS module, and was able to fix/reset the DSC using your NCS Expert software. All is now good - no dash lights on, and not a fault code in sight. Factory fresh! Again, MANY MANY thanks. Cheers!

Also, IF you don't have a K+DCAN with a switch, you can unscrew the cover, and put a small piece of tinfoil between the 7&9 wires, then just put a small tabl of superglue gel to keep it there. Mine works fine now.

I came across this video looking for answers with the previous video of aomeone else i had watched kn srtting this up. Im gwtting back into BMW after not quite a decade. I HAD a working laptop with the DIS/GT1 and INPA on it. Sold it. Figured Ill never need it. Boy was I wrong. I am so, so , so glad someone made a video like this that made this install easy. The last time I did this was back in the days of Windows XP and OS have changed a ton since then. Not being a super big computer giy but abke to learn, I wasnt able to find detailed tutorials ln how to do this install that were up to date. Thank the Lord i found this! I deleted all my previous work and just started kver. The only thing i had to do was install NET 3.5 framework and after that, bingo! Teated in car and we are in business. If you were close to me in locality man, Id buy ya a cold one, or two!! 😂

Evan, I did my 330's brakes this previous weekend and with having to cut out the front passenger caliper bracket with a grinder from incompetent PO's over torquing shiznit and a personal learning process, FUBAR'D the job by letting the master bleed dry. Lmao. I stumbled through this guide to where I could get INPA downloaded to a T to your instructions and dude, you are a lifesaver. Combined with the other channel vids on here and the Dcan cable you linked I'll save a trip to my local dealer/trying the gravel road pedal mashing to purge my ABS/DSC module. Invaluable $25 tool from Amazon as well as ability to realistically foolproof brake jobs on 46's from here on out. I cannot appreciate this kind of KZbin content enough, especially in the ages of 2020! 20 yearr old BMW's are still going strong with a huge following. Absolutely using your videos for coding, always hated not being able to one touch my rear quarter glass windows to shut unlike the one touch open and you explained how to code that essentially. Subscribed. Definitely a major fan of this invaluable channel!!!!!

Thing is, if you want your rear quarter window half open/closed, you can't unless you keep the option as was. But yeah I know what you mean, it's a pita to wait for the window to fully close by holding the switch.

You never went back and talked about how to install the drivers if they didn’t install correctly, and I do believe that’s what I’m stuck on. You also haven’t posted a video about how to install and setup on Windows 10, or at least I can’t find it. Also, is NCS Expert and installing the profiles REQUIRED for INPA use?

If you got the Tou Tou cable like he linked to, search FT 232R USB UART drivers. It took me to their web page. I have it but haven't installed it yet. Or if you got another brand go through that convoluted mess they call windows 10 to get to a real control panel and get the device name then search.

He did show how to update drivers straight after he said it. Go into device manager when you're checking/changing your port to COM1 and right click on the same port you are changing COM on, then click "update driver" in the drop down menu.

I need your help in programming of three options on 2004 E60. 1- My 2004 E60 (530i) rolls down intermittently all windows and sunroof and unlocks all 4 doors by itself when parked and locked. I made sure my key fob is not pressed when getting away from car. I want to disable that option so it will not roll down all windows and unlock all doors any more. 2- How to program to disable the option for AC in order not to turn on automatically when the car starts (My 2004 E60's AC turns on when I start the car - I want to disable that option) 3- How to activate Bluetooth in my car (I do not have Bluetooth option in iDrive settings). I did the download to my windows 10 laptop but 2 things went different than your install in this video that was i didn't get the driver install option window (which i assume just meant that the drivers were zll good in my laptop) but the second is that I either didn't get the 5 files you say to copy from ? & paste/ replace in the ncsexper PFL file OR I just can't seem to find where they downloaded to in my computer to copy & paste them? We have the software installed and everything looks right but once we connect the cable it never switches to on. The light on the cable only turns green for a couple seconds and then goes off and doesn’t always turn green. When I do I to the device manager is says” PL2303HXA phased out since 2012”. The driver is installed. Error message D_0012,IF1H-0018: Initialization error

Hey man great tutorial by far the best I’ve seen yet on KZbin!! But my main issue is I can’t seem to change the language from German to English, even when trying to go to the CFGDAT folder. Whenever I hit on my model type and then choose engine the rest is in German, however on yours it’s in English. Would you know how to convert it like yours is shown on the video?

What did you do to fix this? The first time I repaired it with the install wizard which fixed my issue with not being able to connect with the car. I then deleted all the files and redownloaded everything from scratch but after I go to the engine it's in german again. The file fix steps don't work since it already says english in the file.

HUUUUUGE appreciation for all your videos! You ARE the master. A while back I replaced the ABS module in my '03 e39 with a re-build, which (of course) was coded for an auto trannie & and doesn't play well w/ my 5-spd. I don't suppose you can point me to what I change in the coding to get my DSC working again? I swear I had a link a while back, but I'll be darned if I can find it. Have everything set to go w/ the cable & your software - but there are just so, so many settings. Unfortunately I don't speak German - and I really don't want to brick my baby. Thanks again!

Search "Driver_D_CAN_USB.rar" on google. The second link should be a site called auto-download. It redirects you to the files. To install them follow the steps shown in a video called "How to Install BMW Standard Tools (Bimmergeeks) on Windows 10" on YT. Good luck.

Great video. I will be doing this shortly. Just picked up a 08 z4 3.0si that is in transport mode after the battery died and was replaced. I read so many people used carly to clear this issue but found out it really didn't fix it all. I don't want to pay a stealership for a 5 minute job.

ive used this link in the past and it worked but i just downloaded it again and cant find the files to copy into NCS Expert PFL folder... has something changed with the link?

Hi Evan, I purchased a K+DCAN switched cable from Amazon. I followed your instructions to install it. I ran NCS_EXPERT and INPA and they opened up a-ok. Later I’ll check it out in my car. Thanks Again😃

I have a serious issue with the EWS DME my BMW X5E53 was running fine have an intermittent not turnover at all I figured out security I'd roll the windows down roll up unlock the door from the outside of the start now it just turns over won't start my gut feeling is a security not sinking with the computer so anybody help me with this or did you get some information?

Hello, the profiles for NCS Expert are missing from the folder. There is only default profile in the NCS Exper. otherwise everything seems good. Can you provide some link to download missing profiles ? Thank you very much.

Works great, just the tepmerature in INPA is in wrong degrees, it should be C instead of F
