Suggestion: If you are listening to "form coaches" (OverThrow, slingshot, blitz, ect) stick with One for 6 months to a year, because if you listen to them all at once you will be all sorts of confused and they sometimes contradict each other.

You need to find what works for you. Take Matty O for example. I love watching him because his game is so against the grain.Overthinking form will drive one crazy. Eye of the tiger Nate✌

Y is Caleb talkin' smack? OG ref, iykyk. Your boi was out working on form this evening, crushing 240' standstills and hitting (most) lines like a beast! lol, gotta start somewhere, right? I'm letting up with my hand before the follow-through, not sure why. I'm also establishing a real routine, hoping it dials me in. Have a groovy weekend. Where Emily at?!?!

I had the same problem with my x step. I started stepping back instead of around my front foot and it helped straighten my foot out.

I wouldn't worry about the back foot. There are plenty of pros that have an X-step like that (I do as well), and I've found it really doesn't make much difference. You're shouldn't be pushing off the back leg anyway, so which direction it's pointed isn't too critical. It's only if hip mobility is an issue and you physically can't have an open back hip without screwing up your brace and facing backwards that it's a problem.

the optimal throwing positions, mirrored throughout almost all pros, is both feet angled the same(perpendicular to where you are aiming), shoulder width or slightly wider, and a push off your back leg. equated to a baseball swing(very similar movements rhbh to a lefty batter swing), but you need that push off your back leg. it might only make a minor difference but put in place with the other optimal stances through a pros form and those minor differences is what pushes distance further and consistency better. literally the main differences in high caliber local mpo/ma1 and actual mpo touring pro players. not trying to say theyre all the same form either, theres just optimal positions to put yourself in during your runup and throw
@StwongDave
@StwongDave 3 ай бұрын
@@jbirdfishes that's just patently false. Calvin Heimburg, arguably one of the best MPO players overall, has his left foot pointed almost backwards, and throws as far and accurately as anyone. You do not push off your back leg, it's literally just there to get you to the plant and then it de-weights almost immediately.

@@StwongDave both of calvins feet match up in angle though. both feet come in at the very same, very extreme closed back angle and rip through open. something a good % of amateur golfers dont do. i think nates point(and mine as well) was more so the feet should match in angle instead of his feet being in such an open position. which would absolutely help his cause

This reminds me of the clsssic Nate humor. Glad to see the gains in the throws and I didn’t see the air bounce so that and the putting style is looking good. If it wasn’t literally 115 this weekend I’d be out there trying out the Gorgon

this is how i break down the throw.. coil with body "mainly mid torso" and at same time reach OUT "making sure out is in line with target so might have to coil more" then you uncoil the body "that gets your arm into power pocket" WITHOUT you actively doing it and once you are in the power pocket only then do you actively use the HAND and thats while keeping your elbow up and in posistion you PULL your hand through your elbow "fast and loose" releasing at 10 o clock and once the disc leaves hand ONLY then do you look for the disc!

Hey dude. For me, my left foot in the x-step got fixed when i started thinking about kicking my left foot straight backwards behind me, instead of actually stepping sideways, behind and past your right foot. Momentum keeps me going forward on the teepad.
@OkieTradez
@OkieTradez 3 ай бұрын
3:59 YES lead the run up with scapula.. the last fix is getting you elbow UP and holding it in position as you pull through WITH HAND .. zero effort should be used for elbow.. no active elbow thoughts only FAST HAND thoughts
@OkieTradez
@OkieTradez 3 ай бұрын
1:43 your elbow went before your hand and thats a form of rounding.. your elbow should be held in place and your hand comes through your elbow which makes it a whip and also helps the release point at 10 o clock vs you releasing at 1 o clock..

i had the hardest time getting the nose down but after about 2 years of constantly trying things i figured it out.. the hack was to set the disc in my hand and grip it without my thumb.. once i could grip the disc without the need of my thumb booom nose down.. then obviously you add the thumb into the equation but it for me does nothing to make the disc be held tighter or nose down the thumb is just there..
@garnerthecube
@garnerthecube 3 ай бұрын
Last week I gained about 20-30 feet of distance and can get it over 500 now on a good flight. It seems to mostly be because I started having the disc on a slight anhyzer during my reach back, and also cause I intentionally started reaching out instead of back. I’m trying to mimic a little of AB and Cole Redalen.
@OkieTradez
@OkieTradez 3 ай бұрын
when you reach out you need to get your arm lined up with your run up.. meaning you need to LEAD with your scapula NOT your shoulder.. by doing that when you reach out it will look like you are reaching backward like normal.. so reach out and then turn your right shoulder more left until your reach out arm is IN LINE with your run up!
@OkieTradez
@OkieTradez 3 ай бұрын
for example look at Anthony Barela.. just look how he leads his run ups with scapula and Calvin Heimburg does it too and ironically or maybe not ironically but they both throw further than most yes..

There's two form philosophies currently but instead of admitting to the existence of both, everyone just claims one's right or wrong 🙄 One is you are using the left side of your body as a counterweight. You build up momentum from the x step, then go into a hard brace letting the left side of your body swing and fold into the brace which in turn, whips the throwing arm around. The other is you are actively trying to coil and stretch the muscles along the spiral fascia lines. Going from the back foot, glutes, across the back to the forward throwing shoulder. Then you drive with the rear leg to trigger unloading the coil/tension from the bottom up to whip the arm forward. You can't really combine em, so it's important to discern who's describing a tip for what you are trying to build.

Lol no, all form is keeping hips perpendicular and coiling. Only one snake oil salesman says he doing it different and you should buy his class to find out how.

Yo look at Cole redalens form. His back foot is turned backwards and he bombs. Overthrow has a video about it. You don't have to get that foot perfectly perpendicular. It can be almost backwards as long as you are able to coil.
@jbirdfishes

cole isnt consistently up at the top like the guys who actually get both of their feet perpendicular though. until he is, i think optimum position is as perpendicular as you can. overthrow is a joke too imo

ppl who say you get power from the back leg are on one... literally the hand is all the power.. but no strength required.. good form and FAST hands.. not strength or pushing off legs nooooooooooo! when you do a standstill its alll hand.. zero back leg so what makes ppl think when they walk up and essentially getting to a standstill makes them think oh now since i walk up i must use leg strength nooo legs are for balance only!

your nose angle needs to be down easily IF you have to pour the coffee meaning you have to try to get it nose down IT WELL NEVER get nose down.. being totally loose 100% loose is key and you pouring the coffee doesnt allow for 100% looseness

also dont grip the disc soo hard that you hear it rip from your hand that is total bs.. i can throw further with less grip strength 100% of the time.. also my elbow stopped hurting once i figured out how to grip the disc without gripping it hard.. this new way of gripping also helped me to get the nose down which took my max distance from 530ft to 600ft
