Great advice !! Mark from Vancouver Island. 61 years. Last week I used foot spray on my club face at the range. It was like a had a phobia of the face center! Off the toe, off the heel, low, high....I was laughing out loud at the idiocy until I realized the other people at the range were likely thinking of calling the men in white coats. Hovering the club definitely helped. Ill try to keep the club face looking at the ball😊

What a wonderful video, Coach. I am hitting the driver more and more with great enjoyment. Even up wind I'm using the driver. A few days ago I launched the driver and it was the first time I felt my shoulder coming over the top. Now I know that sensation 😊. If there are no flights this week, I'll play 2 games and yes, I can't wait.

Todd, I ordered the Maxvert driver and like the feel of the club. However, it seems as if I just cant hit it. I have resorted to taking my Maltby to the course lately because there is something about that club or my swing that is causing me to get no height on the ball or distance

I started hovering my driver a few seasons ago, it's definitely much more consistent, generally hit a slight draw naturally, although if a fade is required, i generally tee it lower, and stand a fraction open, age 69, current handicap 3.8 location England

I enjoy your videos and tips. You brought back some great memories of my favorite Masters - Jack Nicklaus winning in 1986! Your tip for hovering the club head is something I’ve heard for years that it also helps by effecting muscle memory. Your thoughts? ps - Thanks again for the great memory! From “experienced” 68 yo golfer in Alabama.

Terry from Willoughby, OH. Experienced golfer age 62. Would like a discussion on golf balls & compression. Could an experienced golfer benefit from a lower compression ball 3 piece or a 2 piece distance ball?

I can do that. What I never hear anyone talk about is whether you are swinging right hand dominant or left hand dominant? I doubt that it matters for this lesson, but sometimes it does. Thank you. Rick

Rick, good question. It really depends on the player and their preference. For most my students I encourage them to feel more lead side activation...seems to give us the best results.

Thanks, I wasn't sure, I know that I have tried mostly to swing like I'm throwing a ball with my right arm like Jon Rahm. I'm going to try the longer VJ Singh type of swing at the range and see which one feels more natural to me. Thanks for your reply.

Are you using this tip to sell the "hex-flex" given the fact that you mention it numerous times during a sentence? If you need more distance, hit the middle of the face as you said, but possibly even more importantly, get rid of body tension which allows more speed without trying to swing harder because loose muscles move faster than tight ones. Tension is likely the most overlooked & least mentioned on KZbin golf university. Only my opinion, but I feel that tension is the biggest swing killer of high handicappers because no matter what else you learn about the swing, when tension is in the body, including grip pressure, you'll never gain speed.
@USGOLFTVshow Жыл бұрын
Agree on the tension as it is a speed killer. We added the Hex Flex to help golfers see and understand the true center of the face.
