I always try to keep in mind that the reason many of these videos are beneficial are because they are not targeting the Professional golfer. The mistakes he's pointing out are mistakes I have made all my life. Especially moving off the ball...although I learned to work with that error and did other things to compensate. That still means lots of problems...especially the one about changing the bottom of the swing etc..

Really appreciate the effort and great advise. I have learn't heaps. Don't mean to be negative but the only piece of advise I might give is you do use a lot of words when fewer will do and it all does go on a bit. But again, really appreciate the effort and assistance. Keep up the great work...

Came across this video and instantly gained 25-30 yards on the first day...no range just straight to the course. Ball position was huge and not cocking the wrists early was the two biggest factors. Ball went very straight and only missed one fairway. normally I miss at least 50%. Shot a 79 and I usually shoot 84-86. I am a believer!!! Thanks for this excellent tutorial...Cheers

Before this video i was hit around 70/75 out of 100 strikes where I want them. After the video im up too 95 out of 100 strikes, and... REALY straight good shoots, and that for almost all clubs. Thanks Todd! Ps. Look on the other videos too and combine them togheter, priceless!

Todd yesterday’s video on 3 power leaks confused me because of an earlier video you did on weight shift I get swinging up and ball positions writhing driver however in the earlier video I’m referring to you recomended moving weight to the trail foot to more easily transition to the left side during the down swing. You say kind of the opposite in yesterday’s video I am a senior golfer and that may be the earlier video might have been targeted for older golfers. I love your videos but yesterday’s seemed like a contradiction to an earlier one

Todd in your takeaway it looks like you immediately activate your hands and wrists vs. a more quiet hands and wrists takeaway that many teaching pros recommend. Can you clarify for me how I should initiate the takeaway?

Todd, I just received my Maxvert drive and played with it a couple of days ago. I've been a single plane golfer for some time and this instruction aligns with my training as a SPG. The one issue I have with the Maxvert is that I hit the ball really high off the tee if I tee it up as normal. I guess I could tee it down some but I'm afraid I'll hit it fat. Any suggestions?
@USGOLFTVshow2 ай бұрын
Good question, yes you can tee it down just a little as there is good loft on the driver. Would suggest hovering the clubhead behind the ball at address and to watch this kzbin.info/www/bejne/fqaqomenbsSjidUsi=eRCtZhPkLzVes5dT

Newsflash: weight IS force (it is a mass accelerated by gravity). You cannot create more force than that of weight without a reaction (push) point. So what a golfer is doing is transferring more of his weight from the front foot to the back foot during the back swing. Second, there is NO such thing as "stored energy" in a golf swing like what you would have in, say, a spring under tension. ALL of the energy of a golf swing is generated by muscles contracting. A good golf swing gives the body the maximum range over which this contraction can occur. This requires a WIDE back swing followed by a compact downswing. It also requires the various muscles working in the correct sequence to maximize acceleration of the club. This means the big muscles first (legs) and the smallest muscles (wrists) last.

You should provide links in the video to the other videos you mentioned. You mention the "transition drill" video near the end and say to look on you channel but you search your channel for that and get about half a dozen results and not sure which one to choose.

I have heard about let the club drop, lean down, but I don't know how to do it. I watch your swing and it is so fast I don't see it. Can you demonstrate a full swing at medium pace done incorrectly (slightly over the top) versus one done correctly? Then show us how to do that lean to correct this error?

Average on tour is actually 1 degree down however I do agree that almost every beginner golfer should hit slightly up on their driver, just saying it's not for everyone
@florianredecsy49977 жыл бұрын
Totally agree with point 1 and 3. but in your video it is only about power and not consistency so I don't get the second point. Look at the long drive guys. They nearly all move of the ball in the takeaway. I know they still find the middle of the club face. But considering only speed moving of the ball is good. Maybe as a second point find the sweet spot would be a great point.
@toddkolb77597 жыл бұрын
Florian, yes moving off the golf ball will make contact more difficult over time in my experience. There is a difference between moving off the ball, what I would call displacement and turning around the ball. When most weekend golfers think of moving off the ball, then tend to sway away from the target and as a bi-product move the pressure to the outside of their trail foot which leads to a lack of power. Good insight you have, thanks for sharing.

A lot of tour pros are now starting to hit down, or at least level, with their drivers to increase spin, and therefore accuracy (the average angle of attack with a driver on tour is 1 degree down). Matthew Fitzpatrick was discussing this at the British Masters last October. You can understand why when you look at the low spin design of most modern drivers. I personally seem to get a straighter ball flight with my driver when I try to hit level, and because of this, my distance increases.
@toddkolb77597 жыл бұрын
Mark good points on the AOA...lots of ways to make it work. As you stated, many tour professionals have plenty of speed and would gladly give up a few yards to find 1-2 more fairways a round. Hope you enjoyed the video.
@markrandall69737 жыл бұрын
Yes, good video thank you. Definitely the three main problems that hold back amateur golfers. Mine used to be a poor transition, being that typical player that wanted to hit the ball from the top. But once I got a feel for delaying that club as I let my body turn out of the way, it all came together. Thanks :-)

Stacklet, agree, there are certainly guys who move all the ball to some degree. Personally, I like a more centered turn than a big movement off the ball. However, some movement is certainly ok.

Mike Smith what Todd is taking about is the fact that swaying a lot can make solid contact more difficult than staying in a more central position, however a little sway with a driver can give you a little more distance it’s just too many golfers that overdo it
