The EASIEST way to clear the corruption in Terraria

Quick notes: The holes shown in the video wouldn't work as they need to be at least three blocks wide to effectively stop the spread. Additionally, you don't need to go to the underworld just to the ash layer above it. There's also a biome sight potion avaliable that will make evil blocks glow similar the the spelunker's potion. Also, the terraformer is obtained by throwing the clentaminator into shimmer post moonlord. There's also no need for you to make those sideways holes. The "sniper scope" will increase the range of your clentaminator/terraformer enough that it shouldn't be necessary as few veticle holes would work just as well and wouldn't destroy your world. Edit: There's a lot of arguing in the comments over how big the holes should be so let's just use bombs.

the reach of the clentaminator is 10 blocks, and the terraformer is 20, if you are doing the holes, dig them 20-40 blocks apart. and for the holes that stop the corruption, line the sides with stone until you get to the underground, the background will change. the sides also need to be 3 blocks apart, id do 5 for safety because the evil vines can reach across to the other side if left unattended. also make sure the holes are perfectly straight. id suggest farming for the rode of discord. it allows you to teleport anywhere, you can then guess where spaces are in the ground with biome sight, this also helps you see any corrupt blocks just outside the light. the shimmer can transmute the clentaminator AND the rod of discord into the terraformer and the rod of harmony.

Its worth noting that when you enter hard mode, the hallow, and a new evil biome, spawns in a V shape starting at the middle of hell. So even if you contained it in pre hardmode, youll need to re-contain it

Oh yeah? 3 Years ago, After i finished my world in a week from start to endgame, my world was already 54% Corrupted and 36% Hallowed. My cousin told me to make an afk money farm so i proceeded to do it and bought thousands of GREEN SOLUTIONS. He gave me a Rod of Discord and so i explored every part of my world and cleansed it until there's no more Corruption and 2% Hallowed which is the surface. Thanks to my cousin's idea of using a rod of discord, i wouldn't spend time mining straight underground

The corruption when it goes to hardmode, generates diagonally. So what i did was get out the mining unit and drilled all around the corruption biome outlining it. Then i blast it. Easy and effective

I actually have a lot of npc’s that sell multiple biome pylons. Like for example my truffle, i made his biome above that hallowed desert. He sells me the mushroom biome pylon, desert biome pylon and the hallowed biome pylon.

A small thing to mention is that if you somehow did this pre hardmode (before defeating the wall of flesh), the corrupted biomes will significantly spread and your efforts would be for not. This would be best to do as soon as possible after defeating the wall of flesh.

Just dont worry as much about it, protect your jungle from corruption but if its the hallow then its not as bad as it wont ruin your jungle biome as the corruption will do. And what i do is just use dynamite and blow big holes on both sides of corruption and when you enter hard mode, just quickly react to where the new corruption spawned and make the new holes. Thats what i do until i can get the clentaminator.

@@opinfine4569 thought that the corruption doesn’t destroy the jungle anymore. Yeah just checked update 1.4.4 introduced corrupted mud blocks which means your jungle still can get corrupted but the mud stays and isn’t turned into dirt wich means with a clentaminator and the green solution you can get your jungle back.

The way I did it was I made half screen wide cuts through the whole world than once I was done I jumped back down through them all purifying could do a little wider than half a screen with the terraformer but that’s what I did just to be safe worked really well I recommend a nautilus shell for digging down so you are not slowed down by water pools lava charm for obvious reasons and a soaring insignia or flying mount. for digging up when you complete a helavator going downwards ancient chisel is also very nice (edit) when I say half screen wide cuts I just mean that I made a hellavator every half screen so if I was standing on one of the hellavators the next one would be just at the edge of the screen and so on

2 things. World infection is stopped by a 4 wide hole not 3. Second vertical holes across an area you are using the gun with is more efficient when removing. You can use your map to tell where you still need to spray

I always make a big tunnel to the underworld on each side of my living area (leave a lot of room for expansion) and then cut a big tunnel under my living area too. Basically make a floating island out of my town and the evil can never spread to it and I don’t have to bother cleansing all that evil biome

Dryad still considers it impure. Instead of the corruption and crimson which are unnaturally evil the hollow is unnaturally “good” to the point where it tries to spread and snuff out anything that is not the hollow which makes it loop back around to evil.

However, during my playtrough, i definetly want to keep the underground evil biomes, i also actually make the place near my house hallow, so corruption/crimson doesent spread there. Npcs also like it, and for example if you spread hallow i desert and you have steampunker, arms dealer, dye trader there, they will still sell desert pylons. So yeah, i spread hallow all over my most important places

When you break an alter a random crimson/corruption block spawns... This wouldn't work if any of those blocks didn't spawn there. If you truly wanted to do this you'd have to dig holes every 60 tiles straight to hell and then just jump down while using the clentaminator. Or you could use terramap to show you where all the crimson is and save time.

I know they claim that but I've noticed corrupt blocks popping up randomly that I never seen before. That's why corruption can spread past the holes you made and in unexpected places. Okay I found what I mean in the comments. It's called "Evil V" and it happens, like I said, after defeating WoF.
