The easiest way to create complex truss rooves Tutorial

Creating complex truss rooves in minutes and getting a detailed bill of quantities has taken multiple hours up until now. This tutorial shows the power fo PlusSpec and how anyone can utilise PlusSpec to create a prefabricated roof. The benefits of this are enormous as architects and designers can see the implications of mechanical electrical and plumbing and how to ascertain the best locations for things like air conditioners and vacuum systems.

the way to use a tool. Such as the roof tool to model trusses has been very useful in this video. knowing the right way to approach the roof generation from 'face' (outline of load bearing wall, in most cases) in not creating any internal rectangles together with starting with the greatest spanned truss is the kind of info I need for each of the tools. makes a huge difference. thanks.

Thanks Jonathan, creating the rectangles is a visual way that is easily understood without going into the detail of why, in this case, it just works. The key in all situations is creating trusses in order of span, largest span first. I will be making a video on joists soon, look out for it as I hope to make it as good or better. I would really love to see something about windows in gables because its a bit tricky in the gableprt of second floor but meaby its just a problem in sweden. The problem occours especially when you renovate an old house and want to visulize small windows in an existing house Hope you understand what I meen. Is it possible to create cutback trusses. ie on internal loadbearing walls but pitched further out. Upstand would work with some trig but it applies to both sides not just the cutback side.

Yes simply add guide lines to draw the trusses from Or create a face with the rectangle tool. You will nee to use the "Add to Roof" function in the right click menu.
