Do your color transfers work best on cotton shirts? Or what type of shirt fabric can they be applied to without damaging design or after being washed? And also are your color transfers safe to be in dryers?

Great Question Manda, all of our heat transfers (including our full color options) work great on Cotton, Polyester and Cotton/Poly blends! We even have some solutions (UltraColor Stretch for spandex, lyrca and nylon) For wash/dry durability, just like any decorated apparel, we recommend Tumble-Dry on a low setting for maximum lifespan. But yeah, they handle the dryer just fine!

It's the same ink screen printers typically use for printing directly on the t-shirts- We just print it on a carrier sheet so you can apply it with a heat press. While these transfers do apply with a household iron we don't recommend it because of varying time, temperature and pressure that will affect the durability and longevity of the print. Using a heat press is the only way to get quality, consistent and repeatable results.

Great question Romin, all of the artwork in our designer is in the clear to use (mascots / logos / etc) however we may hold up orders that are in clear violation of copyrights for workmark / figure mark or contextual use (ie: A Cardinal that has 'Arizona Cardinals' Text accompanying it.) The most common artwork we have to flag is Disney, NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL and NCAA teams. We've actually seen some decorators having luck with the Cricut EasyPress, however, with our own testing we had mixed results- A locking heat press with adjustable pressure is the best way to go. out of curiosity, how that this company or any company do the actual transfer sheet. I just imagine it is a machine and a blank sheet, but how do the colors end up or printed on the blank sheet. Waterproof I assume cuz T-Shirts will end up in the washer and dryer, that is what I am curious about.

That's a great question, these transfers we show here in this video are screen printed with plastisol inks- just like the traditional way of printing directly onto apparel: We make a stencil in a mesh screen using emulsion and then load it onto a screen printing press and ink it up. With a squeegee we push the ink through the stencil onto the paper. Then we heat the inks to 'gel' them, essentially making the ink dry to the touch, but not fully cured. Then, with the application using the heat press the inks are fully cured to the fibers of the shirt and look and feel as if they were screen printed directly onto the fabric. You can learn more about what a screen printed transfer is here in this great video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/f5_XfpmCo72Zg7Mfeature=shared The real benefit is being able to screen print shirts from essentially anywhere: a spare bedroom, basement, garage, dining room, spare office, etc- all without the need for a darkroom (to create the images in the screens) and space for a press, a belt dryer to cure inks and then of course the room to store everything and clean it all up- all of this is replaced by just a heat press. Our transfers apply to cotton, polyester or cotton poly blends all the same. We do recommend low temperature application for 100% polyester garments. Hi Alex, we don't recommend using an iron for several reasons as it does not give the accurate temperature and pressure needed when applying these professional heat transfers. You may have a local library or community maker space in your area that has a adjustable pressure locking heat press you can use for free.

Most superhero logos are protected by both copyright and trademark. For personal use, you most likely wont run into any issues, however anyone printing the logo for you is not using it for personal use (as you are paying them to produce the image) so you would likely have to make it yourself. Spin up a storefront on etsy or your own website and create some mockups (free to do in the easy view online designer, you just create an account: www.transferexpress.com/designer) use those to populate some product listings to see if there's interest in your designs. Set them as a preorder and try to push some traffic to them and get some revenue flowing. Or just post them on social media to see if your friends/family are interested. 2. Order blank apparel and transfers. Help! I'm starting off with the basics! using an HP inkjet printer and transfer paper and domestic iron! I just did my first design and two things result I don't want: I cut the design to a smaller size after printing and it has a border I don't want (cutting around design). The design has a border in the original file but as I printed landscape it was out of sight and too large a design, so I cut. Second, the color output was not at all the brightness of the design file. I'm guessing something with printer settings including paper type, which I didn't use. Has anyone encountered this, or is familiar enough to provide some tips? Thanks! =).

@@transferexpress So, let me understand your second helpful advice. The printer is my issue for low quality printouts. Your transfers would eliminate this low quality even though they'll printed on my same printer causing my low quality issues. Wouldn't the issue then be the design itself, and can't I design my designs on the best editors and print on the same printer? =)

I'm sorry, we pride ourselves on helping small-DIY'ers, hobbyists and small business grow and succeed. The heat transfers we print (both screen printed and digital) are not the heat transfers you're able to print at home with a desktop printer. We were suggesting a low-cost, easy to apply product of ours that would solve all of the issues you're experiencing (including any border removal, which can be accomplished with our Easy View Online Designer). With the wide array of at-home DIY transfers out there it's hard to help with specifics, similar to printer settings, we don't know which one you have or it's capabilities.

While we haven't tried sublimating over our screen printed transfers yet, we wouldn't recommend it. It most likely would transfer an image, but it wouldn't hold the sublimated inks after a few washes.

No sublimation here, these are screen printed transfers with plastisol ink! While they apply just as easy as sublimation (just much quicker), they look and feel exactly like a retail-ready screen printed t-shirt. Don't worry about your colors fading as you wash or using only polyester or light colored garments- Our transfers apply on any color and look AWESOME!

The $55 is for 6 sheet minimum. With the 11.25 x 14" standard or 12.5 x 17" jumbo size you can fit most artwork 2 times per sheet. So for 30 prints in a single color like we show here would be more around $71.
