Good morning Nicole! I'll gladly explain further than the description: This shift lever bushing repair kit allows you to fix your shifter lever by replacing the bushing very easily. Check out our website to order and for additional written instructions. The Shift Cable runs from base of shifter along the underside of vehicle to connect to transmission. It's the communication between gear selection and actual transmission response. There are Three general symptoms of needing a bushing replaced in the shift cable. 1. Shifter is sloppy moving loosely; a lot of mechanics refer to this as "sloppy shifter". 2. Shifter has difficulty moving through gear selection or doesn't remain in position. 3. Vehicle will not engage from gear selection. The most cost effective way to determine if this is your vehicle's problem is to inspect the bushing at each end. If it shows fractures, worn center of original bushing, missing pieces of bushings or totally gone - then replacing the bushing would be needed. If none of these things are obvious then inspect the entire length of the shift cable looking for breaks or cuts and then inspect the bushing at end of shift cable at transmission end.

My 03 Marauder out of nowhere i was parking the car when to put the car in drive it wouldn’t go in gear, I’m able to use (R) but (D) (2) & (1) nothing happens. Could be linkage cable?

Absolutely! Easiest way to confirm is to disconnect the cable from tranny and inspect the bushing....is it there? Worn? etc. It also could be the bushing at the other end of the cable at the shifter end.
