Absolutely fantastic description and so incredibly helpful! Thank you. We have a 2014 220QB Leprechaun with the Ford F-350 chassis. Now we just need to figure out the proper gear to get for our tow dolly,

Do you need a brake controller if using a tow dolly with electric brakes?

@Jacob-zd4gj4 жыл бұрын
That is not a warning sound, it is a electric pump for your brakes so it you loose power you will still have brakes.
@EndlessRVing4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the info Izzy
@JasonSun3862 жыл бұрын
That sound is the vacuum booster electric pump for the brakes. Normally while engine is running, the vacuum booster runs off air intake vacuum generated by the engine.

I know starting on the 2020 models, Newmar offers a Curt Spectrum Integrated brake control as an option, but only on diesels built on a Spartan chassis. However, it is over $1000 extra. But if you have a Air Force One braking system installed on your towed, it will cost more. What trailer do you have and where did you get it? I'm thinking about getting one for taking my antique car to shows.

Hey Roy we picked up the trailer from a small company in PA. 1452 lbs, with 7000 gvwr. Here is link to the 18 ft, we picked up the 15 ft. www.ebay.com/itm/2020-NEW-18-FT-4-BRAKE-ECONO-CAR-TRAILER-OPEN-HAULER-DIVELY/293303079826?hash=item444a39d392:g:tv0AAOSweW5U3iTC

When you plugged the harness in to the car, what happens to the other side of the harness you unplugged?? That seems weird that you just tuck it away.
@EndlessRVing4 жыл бұрын
Rob Smith the harness stays unplugged as shown in the video. Thanks for watching Izzy
@RobSmith094 жыл бұрын
@@EndlessRVing Got it, thanks. I guess I find that weird. Where does the other end of the harness go, and is that by chance unhooking something that needs it?
@EndlessRVing4 жыл бұрын
Rob Smith one side is suspended under steering column and the other i zip tied and tucked away
@RobSmith094 жыл бұрын
Sorry. I realize you ziptied the wire. Thats not what Im asking. Let me rephrase. The connector you unplugged under the dash was an existing circuit that went somewhere and did something. You interrupted it and plugged in the brake control. Im curious where the other side of that circuit went, what it did, and why we can just let it sit there unplugged. Hope that better explains the ?. thanks!

I got the Tekonsha P3. Our new Avalanche came with the upgraded factory tow package with the factory brake controller. I'm wondering if the P3 is better than the factory one?
@EndlessRVing5 жыл бұрын
New Vision Security Services not sure on the P3. I did put a factory tow controller in my Ram. It was much better than the Voyager, but the Voyager will do the job and it was in my tool box.
