Bonus tip. If you have first song you want to edit/bootleg. Set a smart crate with your filters on key/BPM and check what's compatible!

Great video, I found myself naturally doing this and im glad my process matched yours. This feels like the first step to producing.

Thank you for this, You said it’s not the best sounding. Is there a different way to make it sound better? Or program?

Great post. I often get discouraged to make my own edits because of the the learning curve of serato studio . I like this quick and dirty approach

What are some other ways to make an edit/ remix? I recently just downloaded serato studio but am completely lost

How would you account for the instrumental having more bars or the acapella having less verses?

How do you differentiate between a mashup and a remix?
@ddetongre7 ай бұрын
Mashup is what he did in the video. Acappella from one track and an instrumental from another. A remix will add a different drum track and additional or different instrumentation.

Remix is what he did in the video.... mashup has more rearrangement...

As a vinyl dj of nearly 30 years it seems to be a nuskool thing to find tunes in the same key....I really don't think it's an issue...a few groups have made tunes out of key like Prodigy and there's an indie band that made an album with a piano that was out of tune...point made!

Making the edits isn’t the problem it’s getting it out SoundCloud takes them down
@HeavenlyVision-p2m7 ай бұрын
Simple don't put it on SoundCloud only drop in your sets. If people really want to hear it they have to come to you directly to have access it to the mix. Either come see it live or you can either give it out/sell it. No copyright issues unless your a mega DJ or your owned by a label.

Karoke music is a more accurate site for accurate key--- Serato is wrong about. 30% of the time. Great video however!

Mixed in Key is your friend (but it's paid software)

I find Serato to be wrong a lot especially with older music.
