It's great isn't it, especially in a foaming pump bottle, or foaming sprayer. Someone posted the other day that they found it brillliant on bugs as well, they grabbed it instead of Greenstar by mistake and found that, for this task, it performed better!

What’s difference between green star and pol star as I was going to get gs for all the interior ie leather seats,steering wheel dash board etc etc,do I need to use pol star at 1/10 to do leather seats,thanks in advance

Pol Star is a different blend of surfactants which, I believe, leave a little bit of protection behind. From my experience it is a phenomenal leather and alcantara cleaner, but I use it on every surface inside a car. It foams up well, which is a useful trait for leather cleaning as it can dwell without wetting out the leather - particularly useful for perforated stuff. I use Pol Star at 1:20 for the vast majority of the time btw, it's incredibly capable. GS isn't really leather safe, but it's good on fabric as it's lower foaming than others, which if you're doing a wet vac extraction is a real bonus as it doesn't fill the tank with foam, triggering the float valve and making you empty the tank sooner.

Cheers for this one. I have so many chemicals (often multiples of different brands too) and I've recently been thinking, how many do I really need!?! I think Surfex at various ratios is amazing, chuck in a good shampoo and a QD, with a decent wax and I reckon that could be it. But this koch chemie polstar looks like it could be a good addition too. Cheers, hopefully our paths will cross at Waxstock.

I do find I use Pol Star a lot, I don't really use APC in the interior anymore unless there's something that this can't shift (not that I've found anything yet, apart from proper straining, which an APC couldn't do anyway). I use Surfex outside, but this on this inside - it leaves no residue which for me is an absolute winner. Surfex can be a bit....hmmmm, like it needs a wipe of with a damp cloth afterwards?
@decker0373
@decker0373 Жыл бұрын
@SuperchargedLlama I agree about surfex leaving a little something if not cleaned off with a damp cloth but, at 1% the cost saving is mega. But PS looks like one for me.

@@decker0373 i found Auto Finesse Verso APC seem to work well outside and inside the car. It is definitely on the gentle side and smells nice, which for me is important when doing the interior. Surfex is a killer, but smells perhaps a little bit too industrial for my liking. I clean only my car anyway so i do not encounter heavier dirt or stains. Interior detailer is sufficient for me most of the time. Perhaps once a month, the primary touch points need a stronger wipe.

Very good. A word of caution - I use the same microscrubber on my leather seats and steering wheel. For the steering wheel, it's fine with a gentle glycerine based gleaner, e.g. Raceglaze, but strips out the dye if you use something stronger, e.g GTechniq Triclean. Found out the hard way 🙄🙄🙄
@SuperchargedLlama
@SuperchargedLlama Жыл бұрын
I use Pol Star everywhere, because of that very same reason - it seems safe on every surface at 5% and I've yet to have an issue - but making people aware of potential problems is absolutely critical. I find APC's of any sort are generally too harsh on leather. I guess this is why Pol Star exists (other leather cleaners are available).

@@SuperchargedLlama something similar happened to me unfortunately. I was using Gyeon interior detailer which is quite heavy on alcohol content but they claim it is safe for all surfaces. It works great but all of a sudden i noticed that when scrubbing the leather shift knob in my toyota, the towel got black quickly and the leather surface almost gummy soft so i stopped immediately and cursed. Steering wheel is leather as well but no problem there. I guess not all leather surfaces are created equal. Cheers mates

I use this & a scrubber pad on my DIY repaired Nappa Leather. Coming up on 2 years since I used a leather dye to hide some wear & it's not removed anything 🤷‍♂️

@@BrianW1612 that's generally been my experience with Pol Star too. I do see people using it 10% and I've never really understood why, it's so effective at 5%
@SteveLBMK
@SteveLBMK Жыл бұрын
@@otomoravec1732 Absolutely. The microscrubbers are fine to use on seats and most leather surfaces with gentle chemicals. My BMW 330i has an "Individual" leather steering wheel which presumably is made from virgin unicorn leather. Anyway, using Polstar is fine, but using stronger chemicals is not. Had exactly the same "gummy" experience as you.

I might give this a try, i am still on the hunt for an interior cleaner that cleans well, leaves no residue on glossy surfaces and is safe for all the materials usually involved in a car interior. Does one with such combination of properties even exist?😀
@SuperchargedLlama
@SuperchargedLlama Жыл бұрын
Not that I've come across! On the gloss black stuff I just follow up with a QD afterwards and it sorts everything out. I'm quite liking the ceramic QD products for that as it gives a little bit of protection against spilt liquids and fingerprints etc

Would Polstar + interior scrub pad be a good solution to freshen up fabric seats? My car seats are not dirty, just some general surface grime.

@SuperchargedLlama

I use it on every interior surface and material with absolutely no side effects, I've come to the conclusion that Pol Star is actually a far safer product. You'll find this is more effective on sun screen than Greenstar or Surfex is, there's something about how it emulsifies greasy stuff that is unmatched by any other product I've used (which, prior to PolStar, was Surfex or Greenstar on interior surfaces, except for leather, where I'd use Gliptone).
