FYI make sure when you transfer your data to your new iPhone 11 to keep your sim in your old phone. It won’t work if you put your sim to your new phone before you do the transfer. I made that mistake, I was wondering why it took so long. Finally figure it out, it only took mine 25 min. To do the transfer.

This method did NOT work for me (6 plus to 11 pro). Shortly after the transfer of data started, it would announce that had failed and the only option was to wipe the new phone back to factory default. After 3 tries, I went back to the iTunes method.

I am attempting the side by side now and I do not recommend it. I have an excellent wifi system (80 mbps down) and it is taking forever. A backup from iTunes is much faster and much easier as you have more information from iTunes on its progress.

so my internet cut out as i was transfering. so i rebooted phone into factory settings and started process again. the old phone said "error failed" and an error code that i cant remember. i continue without syncing phone and it appears it worked fine __However!__ as i use my phone, any iphones around it with the updated IOS will have the setup new phone notification pop up i tried it again on my old phone but neither blue lights or 6 digit code pop up. need to fix asap, any link or hint will help very much

If you backup using iTunes make sure you encrypt your backups I’d recommend using your passcode as a password because if you don’t encrypt your iTunes backups then your messages and WiFi passwords will not be backed up or transfer over.

Hi, do you know how to transfer over everything APART from the contacts?! I am doing this now and my phones are speaking to each other. BUT I was never asked all those questions (except language) beforehand. The camera on my old phone came up and the swirl started on my new one. I haven't been asked yet to agree to anything! Maybe after? I did just backup my old phone to iCloud for the first time in a long time and if I had seen this video first, I might have used that way to transfer because I need to use my phone - BUT it took over 3 hours to back up (only 64G) and it failed several times. So I am hoping this transfer will go smoothly and quickly.
