Utility modules are like the classic Hollywood nerd: not sexy at all but when you see them without their glasses (ie you use the module in your system) you can’t help but fall in love

Well, we accomplished our goal: getting you excited about utility modules :) The GR-1 really takes advantage of Xchangr's quiet and precise circuitry. And the X-Y control of the stereo VCAs in Monitr is gold! Thanks for sharing.

I just got the Monitr and I LOVE it. I came here looking for the Xchangr, and will be ordering one today. Thanks for a great little overview of these great modules.

Thanks for watching! They all really open up a eurorack system. Enjoy!

Wow, the GR1 through Xchanger part sounds divine!

Haha, know I know why it reminded me of the Hans Zimmer/Interstellar soundtrack, it's an organ sample! 😂

Excellent video! I found this just at the right moment, as I'm taking the jump into Modular and wanted a great way for my Modules and my other gear to talk (in a non-CV way, anyway). I'm a big fan of your videos! Thanks for sharing and please keep making videos!

Very nice demo of the boredbrain units. I had not heard of them at all but they do look like they could be very useful.

i love the monitor because of its stereo vca's but there is also the strymon A++ which is very simiar module to the others and is cheaper and has jsut 4 hp.

Eurorack is certainly a daunting thing to get OUT OF)))

Haha that too.

I am lucky I have a Pro 3 and Pro 2 where I can use like modular gear, without the need of wires all over the place. I still need to direct signal flow, just that it's all internal. CV/Gate will come in handy for some nice pairing.

I am trying to scratch the itch with just the Zoia. Maybe with a external reverb to save CPU power

You actually can live sample into the GR-1, but it's a bit bizarre how you do it. You need to use an "audio interface" through the USB ports and then that becomes an audio input. I have one as well and I'm just using some cheapy little thing off of amazing for an input, though I'm sure I could use something better. Anyway, you can do live sampling and processing this way, pretty cool stuff! The GR-1 is a beast

Yeah it’s absolutely insane to me that they didn’t put audio inputs on the thing and went with 87 usb host ports instead 😂

Go 5U/MU instead. Modules are normal size, sound awesome and the size thing prevents you from buying too many useless modules. hehe

That’s one way to look at it haha
