As I have arthritis in my hands, I can no longer wrap wire but the gripple system has enabled me at 66 to carry on installing quality stock fence.

I did it both ways. One side two posts hand tying took me all day in 90 degree heat like 4-5 hours. This is my first fence. Then the other side with these t clips took me 1 hour.. I’m doing the last side with these t clips lol. They look really neat imo too. Very useful for the bottom wire. They get cheaper the more you buy.

Yes! Absolutely. 👍🏻 Not everyone has the skill or time.

Time is money. I don't think tying off up to 130 of these a day on long runs is particularly satisfying of good for the long term health of your hands. My father's hands are full of arthritis after 30 years of fencing.

Can you use those at both ends? The start AND the finish after stretching? Thanks for showing us how to use this!

I’ve had tons of those “ears” break off over time. I used a lot of them when I first started. Great gadget! Easy to use. Maybe if I don’t tighten the wire so tight and they won’t break 🤷🏻‍♂️

I haven't seen that yet but can see where impact may cause that.

Time or money. Which do you value? Take a 2x4 welded/woven wire fence: 4 corners and two gates. That's going to be 12 termination posts. 13 wires per post. That's around 150 gripple t-clips that you'd need (or around 150 knots you have to tie). Tying knots is free and the t-clips will retail for around $230 at Tractor Supply as of May 2022. If it's my time and other people's money (e.g., professional hire), then I'm pushing hard for t-clips. For my own DIY project, though, I have more time than money.

Will these work on pvc coated wire?
@SWiFence
@SWiFence 3 ай бұрын
I cannot be certain. It could cause them to slip if the coating is too thick.

How would you do that around a steel T post? Do the edges cause the wire to break prematurely?
@SWiFence

We just wrap it twice like you would with a standard tie off.

I need to run woven wire about 1300 feet. How long can I stretch each section and what do I tie off to? Do I make an H brace or a double H brace to terminate one roll of wire and begin the next to eventually get to 1300 feet?
@SWiFence
@SWiFence 2 жыл бұрын
You can do the entire run in one stretch. Build a brace at each end and either stretch to one brace or gut strain it with our wedge boards and boundary strainers. We like the Rance brace better than the H brace: kzbin.info/www/bejne/b3K9lJaHmMaGmrc Here's a strainer board in action: kzbin.info/www/bejne/eWnKZ6Cti6x4r7c T-Gripple termination: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jqu7h5WriqqXp5Y

Closer to $1.50/each around here. Super cool. Great way to build a fence. And, I'll never use them. Would love to, but not for that cost. I think these are for professional fencers, where time is money and there is also an opportunity to pass along these higher material costs to the customer. For DIY, it's a tough sell.

Dude just twist it on the next square and you’re done. No need for that “high tensile knot”. That piece you are using is bound to fail over time and a waste of money that could be in your pocket.
