Didn't see this in your past videos, but any chance you could do a video on how to properly set up one of these newer Verizon 5G LTE Home Internet gateway devices, and how to configure pass-through/Bridge mode properly? Also whether to disable the Verizon gateway's DHCP and/or enable DMZ when adding a dedicated wireless router, and whatever settings it should have for best WiFi coverage and security. the Verizon getaway's built-in WiFi seems weak at best and many people are disabling its WiFi in favor of their own wireless routers. Though I'm hearing that Verizon has just put out a new gateway model that is taller than the cube-shaped ones and is supposed to have improved WiFi strength and pass-through/bridge settings.

I have CenturyLink 1 gig fiber for 65 a month with no price increase. It's fast and reliable so I'm ok with 65 a month. Before I was paying over 200 a month for Cox cable for slow internet and awful cable TV. Good luck in your studies and thank you for watching!

Is the app necessary if someone already has the CenturyLink service, though? I already know how to set up the modem and connect my devices but the app seems a little unnecessary if I already know how to manually set everything up

Nope it's not necessary. Just use the web browser interface.

Hello I need your help. I understand what you said about connecting the router however I need the wireless router in room next to my pc. But the cable modem is downstairs. After I plug the wireless router into the modem and do all the programming, can I unplug it and move it to my room? (Help much appreciated)

You can't unplug it from your modem. However you can run a long ethernet cable from the modem to the router in a different room.

If you're using the secondary device for Wi-Fi, enable AP mode. This will turn off the router portion and simply act as a wifi access point. You don't really need 2 routers running concurrently in most home networks. It just creates extra complexity. Most routers have an AP mode and some will automatically detect if its behind another router and automatically enable AP mode. With other routers, you may need to manually change the settings.

Yes. I have a TP-Link Wired only VPN router. Some people do not like Wi-Fi because of the security issue.
