Awesome video. I wish I had my CNC already still gathering the funds and making room for it in the shop. Keep up the amazing work. 👽

Sounds like folks need to hear the mantra: "If you're not first, then make it better or different".

Great video Hamilton Hey, here’s just a thought when using the Vee bit if you left slightly more than just an onion peel, and didn’t cut completely loose. I would be curious to see if you could fold them and lose the seam line on the outside of the hexagon just a thought keep up the great work brother.

I've seen people do that, and add a little spritz of water to help keep it from cracking.

@@christopherlamoureux8617 I was thinking about the water too after I commented

Thank you. I really liked this version and the way you walked through it. I have seen a 4-sided one and it just seemed like it would wobble over in use. The Hex looked so much better.

I know there's an entire life that doesn't get on video, but you seem like one of the real-est people on KZbin. real-est is now a word.

Great project Hamilton! Totally think this would be a great sell! And you could totally customize this if you wanted by v carving some sayings in the other side if a customer wants. And I caught your “Oops” when zeroing the first time… something I have NEVER done… cough cough 😅

Awesome concept as always. I have had interesting issues with rare earth magnets on a knife river epoxy board. It didn’t matter how many magnets I put in there, the knife wouldn’t hold unless handle was up. This concept seems much more within my area plus that was a huge bowl for spoons and such handles. Loved it. If anyone has some sort of approach on my project to help. Thank you

great project. cutting slats (staves) at an angle, and then making a cylinder. now the next step is to make a drum...

How does it look from the top? I don't think it's gonna look great right now... With all those holes that go nowhere?

5:31 That's not just one, though. That's the whole stack of magnets and each one's magnetic field combines with the fields of the other magnets it's stacked with. You might still just need one, but this demonstration doesn't support that at all. You'll need to test. I also suspect you'll get a stronger effect if the two outside magnets are placed with their fields pointing the same direction and the middle one with its in the opposite direction: N S N or S N S, then alternate each side of the holder. You want magnetic fields reinforcing each other, not working against each other. So: NSN SNS NSN ...

No vacuum table?
@christopherlamoureux861711 ай бұрын
To help hide the seams while using woodglue, if you use a waterbased stain, you can add stain to pva glue to darken it. With a little testing you can get an almost perfect match.

I would have done two rows of magents so the knife is less likely to pivot. one pivot point per knife seems dangerous
