HOLY SHIT, ALLIES ACTUALLY MENIONED JAK & DAXTER, at 1:38:11 I'd do anything for a new Jak game, you've missed out if you haven't experienced those series. The first game is a great platformer and it's a seamless open world (incredible for that time) but the two sequels - OMG! They totally flip the gameplay around and it's like futuristic GTA x Ratchet & Clank on drugs, plus it's made by goddamn Naughty Dog. There's so much freedom and it's simply fun. I've played almost all Naughty Dog games and it's sincerely the one with the most solid gameplay mechanics. It just clicks, and you can get good at it and it feels amazing. Sort of like Platinum Games titles even, you can mess around so much. I won't go into detail, but you'd be suprised by how much it stands out. And guess what? They announced an upscaled release of the series for ps4 just 2 months ago, with the date *coming 2017* This might be in fact a tease for a new project. If a new Jak game happens at E3 in 3 days, I will die from hype. This is my FF7 Remake, my Shenmue 3 and so on! And I know there are countless people in the same boat as me, you just had to experience them get the hype. Some people disregard them as simply platformers, but you have no idea what you're missing! Even if no annoucnment of a new game happens, I suggest y'all to check em out on PS4 later this year. BTW Kyle the first game came out in 2001 - just a year after PS2 launched. And the last one in 2004. I was a young teen while playing them and their are some of my best gaming memories *ever*.

CLARIFICATION: After five years, as per the original contract with EA, the publishing rights to Bulletstorm returned to People Can Fly, then they signed a new publishing deal with Gearbox. Money from the sales of the remaster in this instance will be split between the developer and the new publisher (People Can Fly & Gearbox) however the negotiated it. In this instance, the original publisher (EA) wouldn't be involved in the remaster.

The Spiderman taunt idea, kinda reminds of the Scarface game on PS2. From IGN: You can also tap the Taunt Button, to throw out one of Tony's snappy lines. Doing this immediately after hitting an enemy (it doesn't matter if he dies) will result in a boost to you Balls Meter. When you fill your Balls Meter, you can execute Blind Rage mode by holding down the appropriate button (tapping it won't do anything). This will empty your Balls Meter, but won't effect your total Balls Points. Blind Rage is extremely cheap, and will be key to your success. During this mode, the screen will go red, the HUD will disappear, and you'll switch to a first person perspective. The good news is that you'll be able to lock to multiple targets at once, your enemies will move in slow motion, you'll be invincible, your ammo will be unlimited, you'll never have to reload, and every enemy killed will give you 200 health points. How's that for a killer combination?

When Kyle was describing the idea of a Spider-Man that's closer to the actual comic progression, I immediately thought of the gameplay progression of the Persona series. Sometimes in the process of prepping for a boss, you'd end up having to leave the dungeon and come back again another day because you were out of SP and couldn't grind anymore. And even if you were able to grind a lot, you still needed to figure out the best persona and skills to counter the boss. I think a lot of people had that experience in P4 when they went up against Shadow Yukiko for the first time and got stomped until they figured out how to fuse a Persona with Red Wall and resist/null fire.

Corrections -The multiple Indie Devs showing their games at the same time on different screens was not 2 years ago as stated by Jones. It happened 4 years ago at Sony's E3 2013 Press Conference - Rhino wasn't not shown in the Spider-Man PS4 announcement trailer. No villains have been confirmed as of yet. Green Goblin & Mr. Negative are 2 heavily speculated villains though do to a Osborne sign found in the trailer & the thugs look like Mr. Negative henchmen.

CORRECTION: E3 2013 was the first Nintendo E3 Direct. Nintendo's last 'traditional E3 stage presentation' was in 2012 with the Wii U and ending with the big ending being the NintendoLand fireworks!

All 4 Jak and Daxter games are coming to PS4, that's been announced back in April and if you pre-order The Lost Legacy you get the first one for free (pre-order only though, season pass owners got shafted on that one...)

Kevo to be fair, the are getting a fair deal of the Lost Legacy which is forty dollars. The season pass was cheaper than that by I think about $15 or $20 dollars. The pre-order incentive cushions the blow for those who didn't get that chance.

@Tommy Lee Lynn Little rant: I get that for sure, but I personally got the Triple Pack which was released 9 months (!!!) before the game came out, then ND changed how MP DLC works, then the SP DLC became bigger than ND though it would be and Sony must have realised how "less" people with the Explorer Pack are paying so they discontinued that (Explorer Pack replaced Triple Pack because of MP). I think it's a bit of a shame that those who had the most trust in the DLC and the quality of ND games get treated like this. Sure the DLC became way more valuable down the line, but those people who bought it early with either the Triple or Explorer Pack didn't know that. Those invested in something just because they knew ND generally deliver but all Sony is interested in now is to get new people on board to pre-order the DLC. Sony even has the audacity to include a pre-order only dynamic theme which you just cannot get if you own the Triple or Explorer Pack even though such a theme is worth nothing really and fans just want it because it's related to a game they love, evidenced by them buying the Season Pass, but they still hold even that back. I guess I'm just upset with Sony because the U4 DLC is just such a shitshow for the lack of a better term. Sony released it way too early when ND didn't even know how the game would work in MP. They released it when ND didn't even have a clue about the scope of the DLC and now they taint it with pre-order DLC leaving early adopters of the Season Pass behind. Sony needs to learn a lot when it comes to DLC and learn that they should never ever again release a season pass that early and maybe talk to the devs as well regarding how the game even works and what will be included. Sony was one of the few companies that I generally didn't have issues with when it came to DLC, U4 changed that.

Kevo That is a problem with season passes. But you have to accept partial responsibility as an early adopter. You didn't know what you were buying, but you bought it anyway. If you get buyer's remorse, that's on you. It isn't always the case, I can understand that this is a circumstantial argument. But most season passes can be bought anytime after the game and DLC is released. But now they ND decided to released it as a standalone, I can see why you would feel slighted. Jak & Daxter is available if you want it. You can buy the game via Amazon and get the 20% Prime discount if you don't mind by the game twice and get the theme and bonus. Up to you what you want to do from here.

I just had an idea to make Call of Duty WW2 different: Permadeath. Not for your character, but your NPC allies. If they want to make it focused on brotherhood, that's what I think they should do. Make compelling characters that grow on you, but if they die in a mission, they're gone forever. Make it like Dark Souls and autosave immediately after so you can't just reload checkpoint. That's just me.

1:54:30 its actually pretty hard to make such a spiraling shape in plastic. when a shape undercuts itself you cant take it out of the plastic mold. usually thats solved by having extra parts squish into the mold from other sides to create the undercut, but with a spiraling shape like that, your best bet would probably be 3D printing. product design student here, may be wrong tho :-)

CORRECTION @4:00: The group Kyle is thinking of is B4-4, and the song he went to as an example is called "Get Down". He did, however, incorrectly remember the lyrics to the song's chorus, in which it is sung "If you get down on me, I'll get down on you", not "I'll go down on you, if you go down on me". Speculations and quasi-corrections / comments 1. Mario Maker DX will use your phone as a second touch screen for when you are using the console docked. It will allow you to make levels on the go as well. Maybe you can also use another Switch, but that's crazy talk. 2. Call of Duty is the spiritual successor to Medal of Honor: Allied Assault, which is where the development of Frontline started. The creators of Call of Duty were the lead designers of Allied Assault. Their next game would be the original CoD. Ironically, they now have nothing to do with CoD and are now, as we all know, back working for EA as the heads of Respawn. 3. Dreams will be the killer app for PSVR. It is Sony's Tilt Brush. From everything I've seen, the creation tools look absolutely amazing as a VR 3D modeling program + game design kit, which is something that no other software on the VR market does. It could be absolutely huge and sell some serious headsets; however, without VR, Dreams will flop. 4. Wild will be at Sony's press conference.

There's two different 'Punisher vs the Marvel universe' comic arcs, Jones. Pretty fun reads, Jones is on the money. In one, its Punisher's origin story changed so that his family is accidentally killed by careless super heroes in a typical brouhaha, so he swears to get vengeance against them all, and in the other a virus turns all the super heroes into insane cannibals and Punisher is one of the only survivors of this insane apocalyptic world. When you guys talk about your ideal survival game, it makes me think you may like the (later added) survival mode in Fallout 4. Every little resource matters, saves are limited, and a bullet does what it would do in real life (& 2 hits will often kill you). It adds a massive boost to role playing and forces you to strategize as you just live day to day in the wasteland.

This was a jolly podcast, I enjoyed it. Great couch. I love all the allies, but Brad, Ian, and Damiani tend to be more negative, so this is always a good group. I also think that Injustice question was very interesting. I wonder how much of it comes from the fact that fighting games tend to have stiff movement and such, on top of having a set moveset for all of the characters. I was thinking how Smash Bros. is kind of a fighting game that does this well, where you don't feel like you're playing a limited version of the character. But I wonder how much of that is the style of movement and how much of that is the fact that the Smash Bros. characters were video games characters originally anyway, so they never had the sort of possibilities that comic book heroes have in the first place. Interesting to think about either way. L&R

Don't expect Gran Turismo: Sport to have anything weird, it's meant to be integrated with real racing series. It won't have nearly as much launch day content as previous games; there will be more focus on competitive and ranked online play. This is the reason it's not GT7, that will be a separate game. Also, GT has never been a serious sim, but it has always been much closer to that than Forza. I think this is an interesting contrast to make which I think stems from the cultural differences in the US and Japan as well as Sony and Microsoft.
