An almost entirely irrelevant nugget about 1:00:17 Yatta (やった) is Japanese for "I did it!" This phrase has become prevalent in the Super Mario Maker kaizo (hard-level) community after a Japanese streamer cleared one of the most famous hard levels of early Mario Maker, Pit of Panga: P-Break (kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y3LHeGipm7-JZpI). Yatta is very commonly used to celebrate the completion of a difficult level. Some Mario Maker players also use the phrase yattanai to refer to missing a level on the final jump.

I think the reason why Tekken 7 has been getting a lot of hype lately is because 1. The Game is good, easy enough for beginners to pick up 2. It has a complete roster of characters, (except for maybe 3 characters, Eliza, Geese and another TBA char). Compared to sfv's 16 and although It has a season pass which adds 2 more chars, you don't really need it cuz you already have 36 available. And most players rarely play with 3 or more.
@ron19197 жыл бұрын
Tekken 7 is also an extremely well realized game. Very few technical issues, exceptionally well balanced, and has direct involvement from the community (Geese was the #2 most requested Guest Character from Harada's popularity poll hosted on his twitter). The game is also just fun. Have you tried King's chain throws in practice? Especially against Kuma? It's hilarious.

Slight corrections: -Jones, a remake of a bigger gap came out this year in Fire Emblem Echoes which was a remake of a 1992 NES game. Besides that, Reviewed Game Wonderboy came out in 1986, -Kyle, Face correction for a fighting game was not new to MvC:I. There were huge complaints about Injustice 2's faces and Netherrealm reworked their entire mocap work to improve it.

Correction: FE Echoes (a remake of FE 2) has a longer time of release date to remake release. FE Gaiden was released in 1992 in Japan. So that's 25 years vs Crash 1's 21 years. However, I know FE Echoes did have heavy changes to the original, so its status as a "remake" can be put into question.

Correction: At roughly 1:43:09 Kyle states that Don's Dino Frontier drawing has the size of "4 pixels" on the image captured by the camera. However, even at 144p, which is the lowest supported resolution on KZbin, Don's drawing appears to be 7 pixels high and 9 pixels wide, making up for a grand total of 63 pixels (as proven by the provided imgur link) i.imgur.com/2kPZXst.jpg Of course it would be possible to get it to actually be 4 pixels (2x2) when watching the podcast on a very low resolution phone, hopefully resulting in a significant enough downscaling of the pixels actually displayed. However for this correction I limited myself to the source footage only, for everyones sanity. So I must conclude that it would've been perfectly possible for a huge chunk, if not all, of the audience to clearly make out the Dino Frontier picture drawn by Don.

Correction at 19:59 -- Blood labels Crash a remaster, but it is a remake. The art being completely remade is significant enough to warrant the label of remake, not to mention everything else that was added. A remaster simply increases the resolution etc. without significantly overhauling parts of the game to the degree a remake does. -Julian/FUNKNOWN EDIT: I guess I should note that I felt compelled to point this out because this was a "big thing" on GAF lol and I remember the last time you guys spoke about it, there was some disagreements on it. Anyway, good episode as always! Thanks :]

The fact that none of you had any idea who Jubei, Jedah or even fricking Geese Howard were saddens me a little. Jubei is one of the most important characters in Blazblue lore since the very beginning, while Jedah is the final boss of the most well known and reverred Darkstalkers game and has had a cameo appearance in Project X Zone along with Morrigan, Demitri and Lilith. As for Geese Howard... where do I even begin... He's been playable in more than 20 video games, is the final boss of most Fatal Fury entries as Kyle said, which makes him one of the most relevant SNK bosses of all times, and he's Terry Bogard's archnemesis and Rock Howard's father. His dub of broken english is also a meme, hence that Tekken trailer. It's honestly kinda crazy that not a one of you very knowledgeable video game players reacted to that name.

MvC:I just feels like they keep reusing assets. Can't get hyped for it too much sadly.
@ron19197 жыл бұрын
The part that really gets me going is that if they're just going to reuse old assets anyways, why can't they start with a more impressive roster? I mean, Spencer and King Arthur got in, but NONE of the X-Men qualified? The Marvel side of the Roster feels like the weakest link, especially paired with allegations that MvC:I is MCU centric, hence the absent X-Men. Real talk: All Capcom has to do (or potentially, what Disney has to do), is allow the X-Men from UMvC3 to be part of the starting roster. That would stop most of the animosity towards MvC:I. Whoever decided to exclude the X-Men in favor of the MCU couldn't make the distinction that fans of the movies are not the target audience for a Marvel vs Capcom game. The demographic most excited for MvC games are the FGC, and the cardinal sin of fighting games is to exclude existing characters (namely staple characters) from the roster for no reason. Or worse, for a terrible reason. "Functions". For MvC:I to shake off all this ill will towards it, it needs to reverse its stance on a variety of areas. Some of it is actually doable before its scheduled release. The gameplay is actually solid, and allows for amazing plays from those who know what they are doing. It's a great spectacle that is prime "EVO moment" material. The things that MvC:I needs to change are surprisingly simple, just from a PR angle: Shake up the roster, add some interesting characters. Capcom has a whole host of original characters that would work everyone into a frenzy. Captain Commando, Jin, and Asura are prime choice picks for a game like MvC:I. On Marvel's side? Bring back the X-men, and reintroduce a couple of characters. Rogue, Gambit, and Sabretooth are great picks, because they have been in prior MvC games, but never a 3D title. Another tactic would be Free DLC. What with all the reused assets, bringing back legacy characters from UMvC3 for free would go a long way in the public eye. Sure, we'd pick it apart, saying that MvC:I was just another rushed product, but it's better than the barebones roster we have now. I have to stop myself. I'm going too much into a rant...and Huber bringing up DmC isn't helping.
@Neoxon6197 жыл бұрын
The decision to leave out the X-Men at launch was on Marvel Entertainment, or more specifically Ike Perlmutter. The X-Men ban lifted 2 months before MvCI was announced, which was far too late for the launch roster. Lego Marvel 2 is also facing a similar situation.
