hi ECR. Very cool books. cool Little Monsters, gotta love those Gold Keys. cool Caspers, always liked those multi colored titles. cool Hot Stuff ice cream truck cover. Very cool Hot Stuff record player with the Psychedelic like colors coming out of it. cool Monster Hunters#17, love that Monster playing human checkers splash page. very cool Grim Ghosts, especially #1 fantastic cover & colors. Fantastic double page spread in Tomb Of Dracula trade#1. Oh man growing up in the 70's, I loved that Chiller opening the arm coming out of the ground. Oh yeah Sleepwalk by Santo & Johnny great song, the version by Ritchie Valens sounds very similar.

I remember Jack and Jill kids magazines from school. Wish I had them now. I think they’d be fun to experience again! Harvey Comics: I will always pick those up when they present themselves. Those wonderful comics started me on my life long passion for the great American sequential art form! Love the Nostalgic interludes of early rock/pop music!

@@captainstrangelife 🎶Good morning Captain , good morning to you 🎶 How are you doing? I found a few Jack and Jill books a few years ago - always looking for more 😊 Can't beat Harvey Comics - love em'. It's hard to find music that won't get me banned on The Tube - but I'll keep looking for the hidden gems ( kinda makes me the "Pirate Radio" of comic book channels 😁). I'm gonna gather some up over here in the Hawksnest, I know i have a couple ,very cool and Grim ghost Atlas.i don't think I need another rabbit hole to go down and start buying action figures,if I find em in a yard sale or in someone's trash I'm all over it 😂 Yowzaa! Those tomb of Dracula look awsome! Never saw those before. I don't know how I'm gonna be able to sleep after seeing that killer tree movie clip. Aww classic music to take us out with. Loved the show ECR! Great stuff! That video of "Mendocino" must have been recorded from a Playboy After Dark tv show episode. That's Hugh Hefner dancing with Barbi Benton at the end. I loved that girl back in the day, she was a real beauty. DC and Charlton may have had the better horror anthology comics, but man, Marvel destroy's those two with the horror characters/series like Werewolf By Night, Frankenstein's Monster, and the absolute best-of-the-best, Tomb of Dracula. That mini series revist to Tomb from the early 90's you have is solid. Close to 200 pages of Wolfman/Colan/Williamson goodness!

@@LeadPaint1 Greg !!! 👊 What's up brotha - sorry for the late response 😔 Yes sir, The Sir Douglas Quintet performing on Playboy After Dark 😎 I cannot argue with you about the Marvel ongoing monster titles - 100 % I just finished reading the Dracula series last night - I love a good "Man out of Time" story, or should I say "Vampire out of Time" - I never thought I would read Dracula trying to load a CD ROM 😁 Great story though. Thanks for always stopping by my friend - and sorry I didn't catch your comment earlier. Take care Amigo 🫡

I am not familiar with Jack & Jill, but any vintage magazine is interesting to me. Just the retro graphics and design is enough to grab my attention. * * * That was quite a big stack of fun Harvey comics! I only recently got interested in them in the last couple of years or so. I blame the esteemed Captain Strangelife for getting me into this rabbit hole. I'm trying really hard to restrain myself. But they always look so fun! * * * Always cool to see some horror from Charlton. Even better when you get some of grandmaster Steve Ditko's best hidden gems. * * * I have a full set of all the Atlas/Seaboard comics from the 70's (except for the Vicki reprints) and, in my humble opinion, Grim Ghost was one of the most interesting and original concept of the whole line. * * * I haven't read that prestige format of Dracula, but it must be a good read as I consider that the great Gene Colan best and most inspired work was on the 70's Tomb of Dracula series. So for him to come back to revisit one of his most famous work must be something special. * * * I always love your selection of musical interludes, but you kept the very best for the big finish. I LOVE the instrumental rock of the 50's and 60's, and Santo & Johnny's ''Sleep Walk'' is maybe my favorite musical piece of all time! It is eternal and timeless. This is the music I want them to play at my funeral to send me away.

@@Rangersly Howdy howdy Ranger! 👊 I'm also a big fan of the kid's books from the 40s-70s - beautiful art/graphics 😍 I remember Harvey Comics being the most enjoyable of the kid's comics growing up. Monster Hunters is something I latched onto a few years ago and I want them all now 😁 I wonder if Atlas is going to offer a new line of comics? It would be cool if they created a line of trade reprints then launched a new line that keeps the same disjointed storytelling 😁 Sleepwalk is an all-time classic, and yes, it has made my funeral pire playlist. Thank you Ranger - can't wait for your next video 🫡

It's understandable they'd be less variety at Halloween when you have to show the creepy comics really. I have 2 issues of that Dracula book I should really try harder to find the others so I can finally read the darned thing. I didn't see the title of the ending song so didn't catch the name's relevance to the season, but all cool anyway. I don't have many kiddie cartoon books but I've picked up the odd one here and there, no shame in a bit of innocent comic books fun. They are quite charming lil strips. It's crazy but cool that Atlas are getting a strange resurgence! Have a good one easy.

@@thegreyman The last tune was "Sleepwalk" by Santos and Johnny 😎 The middle song was "Mendocino" by The Sir Douglas Quintet ( Lead by Texas music great Doug Sahm ). Harvey put out the best "funny books" in my opinion 😊 Who'd thunk we would get a line of Atlas/Seaboard action figures? I'm not necessarily a toy guy, but it sounds tempting - if they ever put out Planet of Vampires, I'm in 🤘 Gracias Grey for tuning in Amigo - I'll be ready for another Halloween tale of terror over on your channel 🫡

Well, being forklifted through a crowd and onto the stage is a new one on me 😄Also what happened to this week sponsors, did they pull out at the last minute due to the disagreeable content you were showing? Now that hand in the Chiller promo was that supposed to have 6 fingers, if not someone created themselves a whole lot of unnecessary work? Lovin' the Charlton stuff though, were they the king of horror comics?
@easycomicreader3 ай бұрын
@@tmpsfrommars I'm forklifted out of the building after each trip to the buffet 🥴 The sponsors will be back next week - seems like the shipment of Sea Monkeys I sent them as payment was a bad batch and they pulled out at the last minute - no worries though Tempus - they'll be back next week 👍 The Chiller promo was a homage to the infamous Six Finger Farnsworth , a world famous claymation artist of the late 1700s 🤥 It's hard to say if Charlton was was the king - as a kid nobody wanted them, so it was what we picked up in the boxes of comics we found at the flea markets. DC definitely had the big names - but I'll go with Charlton for the sake of argument and for giving a poor kid from Texas many fun hours of reading. Take care brother Tempus 🫡

@@easycomicreaderI've had batches of Sea Monkeys like that as well! I'm surprised I didn't get the Chiller reference, I've got most of Six Finger Farnsworth's work and I'm a big fan of the DC horror stuff but I think I'd still have to give the edge to Charlton on this one.
