As an interior designer I really appreciate your attention to a 'color storyboard'. Many flower farmer youtubers do a fine job creating bright and cheerful market bouquets - but yours are 'next level'. If you made more of these videos I would watch every one of them. I didn't know this wasn't a thing. This is the way i have always designed my flowers. But then again I didnt go to school for it or anything I just think of it like fashion. My Mom taught me when I was a little girl to always match ? Accessories to the least amount of color showing in my outfit. So if I had a beautiful White dress with hit pink & Orange flowers that had tiny yellow centers & that was the only yellow on the whole outfit she said to match my shoes purse jewlery or other small items in th!t color. So I always took that approach to flowers in what way you can frim flower to flower knowing each would play off the others natural connection to the color of you starting focal flower. Lol i guess I never knew better to do different maybe i better watch the "Other" videos & see whats considered the "right" way yo do it. Lol.. Thanks for your approach though I need to learn more about the different ways to sprial & do different shapes for bouquets for sure. 😊
@floristsonfarms2 ай бұрын
Wow your mom had a wonderful way of seeing colour and it’s so neat to hear how you’ve applied that approach to your flowers! I love how you phrased it, similar/same approach for sure to finding colour connections! Thanks for being here 💖
@krenee22662 ай бұрын
@@floristsonfarms LOL Honestly as I said, I just never knew better. Fashion has always been my hobby so decorating & other things that come with building a home for children decor, flowers etc.. just follow along & I applied the same principals there. It's funny when you think how much 1 comment can completely effect your life without ever giving it much thought after, except when actual in actual use ie.. practical application. 🤔 But yeah that one descriptor only mentioned to me that one time when putting an outfit together as a early, early teen maybe 13 gave me my entire knowledge in 1 small 3 or 4 sentence paragraph. I also taught both my boys how to style their clothes wirh that same info & a little blurb of my own about color familys since boys fadhion isnt as wide ranging as ours in the same way. But, Mom's are awesome, arent they (we) I sure do miss mine 😔! At least this made me take a moment to remember my Mom from a time in my life when I wasn't trying to pay attention to anything any grown up so TRYING to teach me. LOL How life changes...Have a Wonderful Day Thanks for posting your Beautiful Flowers! 💐

Stunning! So helpful. As for color theory, even though you approached flower choices with the starting point of a actual flower (!) rather than the color wheel and color schemes, couldn't the argument be made that the finished product is an example of a monochromatic color scheme.? The dull term "monochromatic" hardly conveys what you achieved. Thank you for taking the time to share your expertise. Thanks for including flower names.
@floristsonfarms3 ай бұрын
Thanks Nancy! That’s a great question! The colour palette would be considered analogous, from red to pink to purple 😄. To be monochromatic, it would have to be a singular hue, often in ranges of tints and shades; but all of the same hue.

I grow a lot of different colours as the dahlias are for both late spring, summer, and fall colour palettes (flowering from June through October!). That said, with the rest of my gardens I do grow into specific colour palettes, focusing mostly on purple/pinks and red/orange/yellow

Hello. Thanks for this. When is the non spiral technique a good option? I naturally do not spiral, even though I try. I’m wondering how I can make better use of my natural non spiralling approach?
@floristsonfarmsАй бұрын
Hello! One technique for starting a spiral is to use the first 10% of the flowers you’re using in a hand-tie bouquet as a base, paralleling the stems rather than spiralling. Then after that, you can start placing the rest of the ingredients around at an angle. Maybe that will be a way of working that will feel more natural for you?
