A good tip is to push find bitting after it decodes the key, and it will pull up a key code that matches. That way you are for sure cutting it right.

Used my Otofix im1 to program a 18 Ram 2500 the other day. Did it very easily.

I know the otofix stuff is using autel software but is there any catch anywhere regarding capabilities? Server reliability, hidden add on fees? I am thinking about the IM2 which is supposed to be identical to the 608 pro2

Cuts a final slower cut to make a clean key.

Ford has a free version of ForScan. You can get a temporary license.

Only downfall to that tool is there no kickstand

I had an interesting incident. I bought a really cheap car. I didn't realize it only had one key. (braindead moment). It was a grey key from Toyota. The Toyota dealer said it was a vallet key and could not be duplicated without accessing the entire passlock system. I called your shop and gave this information. Going on the information I gave you, you were not able to do it without the car present for the same reasons. (I'm out of state). I had a locksmith come out for a different car. As it turns out, he was able to make spares off my grey key. So I'm not sure what happened with Toyota. Either lying or not knowledgeable.

Technically the OEM doesn't support key cloning, they made copies of your clone, the OEM system only has a method to add keys, since you didn't have a master key, that's not possible for the dealers, us locksmith's have many other methods.
