In this video I clarify what is the right amount of intensity to apply to your martial arts training. What is too much? What is too little? And what is just the right amount.

Hope you heal 100% brother. I'm from Spain, I'm almost 100% recovered from a stroke I had while boxing. And now I do kickboxing without sparring. At the end, that's life 4 us! The warrior's way. I share this with you bc I want to recommend you to be patient and tolerant towards your body, but to ALWAYS believe you can and, in fact, you will get recovered. Greetings and blessings brother!!!! ✌🏻😁

Started thinking about this exact topic the day before this video came out. My BJJ teacher says I need to show more intensity in my rolls before he's willing to have me test to the next belt, and I've noticed that my Kung Fu training has felt more like a routine where I'm no better than I was a month ago. I want to appreciate where I'm at on the journey, but I definitely need to start training like I want to be better, since I do.

100% man, it's a relatively easy fix! Plus it makes the whole journey more enjoyable and takes you out of the monotony.

Great point mate ! I actually listened to my body at some point and i felt that my best is when i do a hard training and in the next time a lighter one. That way im not killing my body and im progressing. In the world of grind this is the best medicine

100% bro, and the blatant fact is that the constant hustle mentality doesn't even work, so eventually you come to face the point that if you want to actually get better (rather than look cool by telling people how much you hustle) then you've gotta take a more intelligent approach.

Definitely enjoy this video ever since I first heard you said this in one of your old videos "perfect practice makes perfect" such inspiring words I’ve been living by that ever since not just physical wise but in life in general! And the human body is a super interesting topic. I’ve always been drawn to this type of stuff no wonder why science was my fav class back then 😆, the adaptation and intent is so true personally for me I’ve made decent progress. And during my training sessions I always come with the mindset/self talk "what will make my hook punch more fluid" with something specific in mind I never go into training bland. It’s almost like if I have a checklist in my mind but it’s never ending cause I always find new errors as I correct other errors that’s beauty of the martial arts journey it’s life long!

Yeh man that's a great approach! It's training mindfully as opposed to just going through the motions as I highlighted in this video. It's so you can catch the mistakes early, rather than having to learn the hard way when you've already engrained bad habits.

Man in the past you looked even more like an anime character. Thank you for the powerful und incredible well presented reminder. I stopped training a few months ago and have trouble starting again, but it feels good often, to just do shadow. But i feel like i can't hold the flowz intent and giid technique for long. I will take my focus again to imagine what i want to do with my shots, like braking bones or just fainting. I stopped imagine things like this, because i was alwasy getting mauled in sparring because i have no distance and i lost my self-confidence, you know, like people who di that fir much shirte time gettingt faster and better. But now i am relaxed again and will just gave fun again. Thank you!

Yes bro, a happy athlete is a good athlete... Or more importantly one that is having fun! This stuff is like a big skill within itself so the more you do of it the better command of your body you will gain as a result. Keep going, you've already got that latent muscle memory present so it won't take much to reignite the fire once again.

Since Conor Mcregor broke his leg all of his sparring videos have looked like this. He just looks like he isn’t being challenged at all and is just going through the motions.

@grantstevensma
@grantstevensma Ай бұрын
@@kevinking5880 Haha thank you my man! It's basically all of the training philosophies I speak about on this channel. If you watch through a lot of my videos I always emphasise the importance of perfecting technique as best you can constantly because that's where the majority of speed is gonna come from due to you being hyper efficient in movement Meaning there's little to no wasted energy in the techniques resulting in them simply happening faster - that's the absolute foundation. Then on top of that, constant repetitions even when you have developed the techniques a lot. There's always new levels to reach and it's essentially a constant progress in that manner.
