I'm looking forward to learning more about the transfer switch. It's fundamental if you will not back-feed the grid and kill some utility workers, and also ensure that your neutral bonding gets correctly installed for the house consumption when the grid is down. Cheers.

I noticed that the power cables coming from the charger busbars are different lengths as it goes to each battery pack. IE the batteries closest to the busbar (top shelf) has less cable length then the one that's on the bottom shelf. I have found that the batteries with the shortest route or length of travel not only gets used up the fastest but also charged more often.... just my thoughts.
@easypowerwall Жыл бұрын
HI, thanks for your question. I agree there's a little difference in length. Because I have 4 x 15KWh, the current for every battery is pretty low, so losses are marginal. But it's a good topic for a future video. Will show current difference while charging. Stay tuned. Franky

Great setup! How did you solve the problem with inrush current for the inverters when connecting the batteries? Did you implement a precharge resistor circuit?
@easypowerwall Жыл бұрын
Hey Jens, I actually have a unique system to overcome the inrush current. It's planned for a future video. If my answer receives a lot of "thumbs up"....I will avance the video. Have a nice evening. Franky

Hello, Thanks for sharing these videos. I’m also on my way to build such system. Please check the multiplus manual, chapter installation. Victron states that the negative battery cable should ALWAYS be connected to the multiplus and it’s not allowed to put switches or breakers on the negative lead. I don’t know why this is… Anyway, good luck and thanks again!😊

Hi Erik, thanks for your reply. I'm aware I need the ground always be connected with the MP, that's why I installed a fuse in the + line. Normally I will never disconnect all batteries...if I do, the MP will be switched off. Thanks for the remark. Have a nice day. Franky
@nigelbooth3661 Жыл бұрын
Hi Franky, thank you for this video. It's exactly the type of video I'm looking for to get specific details of how all the components are connected. I'm curious about something that I have seen on a family member's installation. Like yours, the cable diameter from busbar (Lynx Power In) to fuse is smaller than the cable diameter from fuse to Multiplus II. I don't understand the reasoning for this. My understanding is the current would be limited to that of the smaller diameter cable, so why use two different diameters? I'm hoping you might be able to explain this to me.
@easypowerwall8 ай бұрын
Hi Nigel, For short piece the loss is not high and it's easier to bend the cable between this busbar and the fuse.
@basiljacob4037 Жыл бұрын
That’s a great set up. Do you know if the battery banks can pass the Fluvius inspection/certification?
@easypowerwall Жыл бұрын
Hey Jack, they passed my wifes inspection...if it passes there, it passes everywhere :-) Just kidding. No idea if it's passes the Fluvius inspectation. Some builders with similar setups managed to pass inspectation, so I think it's possible.
@basiljacob4037 Жыл бұрын
@@easypowerwall Great, I'll try to pass it in around 6 months with 32 cells 280ah, a Deye Hybrid inverter and 36 pannels. I'll let you know. Keep the videos coming!

If you are thinking of adding more cables to the house think about a conduit, that way you can pull any cable you want at any time.
@easypowerwall Жыл бұрын
Hey, 4 years ago when I started the project I installed a small conduit. It might be possible to add an extra cable. See how it looks like here: sites.google.com/view/diy-powerwall/inverter/all-electric?authuser=0 After 4 years, things got out of hand, never taught the battery virus would bite me that hard. I'll find a way to get the extra cable between point A & B. Bye for now. Franky
@ericklein5097 Жыл бұрын
How much resistance does one fuse add to the circuit? 25mm2 seems a bit small for the size of your inverters. Wouldn't it make more sense to do 70mm2 off the bus bar and at least 35mm2 off the batteries to the bus bar? Or do you plan on never running your inverters very hard?
@easypowerwall Жыл бұрын
HI Eric. The cables between the busbars and the inverter are 70mm2. Only the short piece between the busbar and the fuse is 25mm2.

@easypowerwall Жыл бұрын
Hi Philippe. De 4 batterijen of banken hangen allemaal aan dezelfde busbar. De spanning is dus op elk ogenblik op alle batterijen dezelfde. Elke batterij heeft zijn eigen BMS. Werkt prima zo. Frank - EASYPOWERWALL
@johnbrand5231 Жыл бұрын
Why did you choose to have your upper and lower battery banks connected with different length of cables to the busbar? Won't this give a higher flow on the battery banks with the shortest cables?
@easypowerwall Жыл бұрын
Hi John, Indeed there's a little difference but the impact is marginal. If I'm using 2KW of energ, that's 500W per bank, +/- 10A, so voltage drop is nearly zero. Difference is only 40cm max, so definitely not a dealbreaker. Have a nice day. Franky

It would be good to add a second row of output terminal connectors to the BMS protection board to allow connection of the active balancer. Is it possible to buy your BMS protection board somewhere?
@easypowerwall Жыл бұрын
Hey Tibor, The board is connected to a JK BMS. The BMS has an active balancer onboard. (my version 1A) But I agree, it might be interesting to have a bigger balancer when cells get out of wack after many cycles. I was planning to launch a sale of the board when the in depth video about the BMS protection board was published. Will contact you via FB group: facebook.com/groups/1076897519357184 BTW have to add some minor tweaks. As always the gerber files will be available too If you want to order the parts and PCB yourself. Talk to you soon. Franky Easypowerwall.

@easypowerwall3 ай бұрын

Mvg Frank, ON7RU
