I too spend a large portion of my reselling time cleaning, researching, and testing items to sell. However, the last two weeks I sold a laser pointer for $900, an ID card printer for $275, a red dot rifle scope for $675, and a Sure Fire Pistol flashlight for $646. All of these required time, but proved worthwhile for me.

what's your return rate?
@chaicharin2 ай бұрын
Next time use Easy Off. Spray it inside and leave it overnite in your garage (so you dont get the fumes inside your home). Then next day just wipe it down with soapy water and a towel. Zero scrubbing needed and you could have worked on something else while you let the Easy Off do its job. :)

Thing also with Higher priced items a return can hit your business harder then a Lower priced item will especially during slow sales yes you might have to work harder and sell more to match that higher priced item so for example say i sell 10 $10 items and some one sells 6 $100 items if i get 1 return back I'm out $10 or 10% if the other seller gets 1 there out $100 or 16.5% so there out more then i am and this is the main reason its very important to sell Low Medium and High priced items because those low and medium priced sales will counteract those High Price Sale returns and vise versa the high price sales that do end without a return counter act the low and medium price sales that end in a return
@zachariah71142 ай бұрын
Do you mean to tell me if you could find a steady supply of only high ASP price items at good buy costs, you wouldn’t exclusively sell higher ASP items? Bernard Arnault set out to be the world’s richest man, hence he chose the luxury sector because the products command the highest price, while himself having no interest in luxury fashion.
@bennystratton77342 ай бұрын
@@zachariah7114 so if someone jumps off a bridge your going to jump too same thing with what your say and yes I wouldn't do that model ice been reselling for 26 years as many sellers are finding out (something I have known for 2 decades) getting High ASP items with quick STR is like finding a needle in a haystack you make it sound like it can be found like money growing on trees or something come get real only way I would sell high asp items exclusively is if these go with the items they have a very low return rate and and they have a very fast STR both of these factors have to be present then yes I might consider exclusive selling high ASP items till then selling all price points low medium and high ASP itens is the way to go again this I learned over 26 years reselling full time

One of the advantages of large stores of varying sell through rates is you get a lot of small sales trickling in all year around. I sell cheap and expensive items and the cheap ones are of course the most affordable.

THIS THIS THIS all day!!! 1000% correct!! and with a down economy (which ever body loves to conveniently blame instead of ebay itself and the things they are doing and direction they keep wanting to go EVEN THOUGHT we can all see its not working DUH) yes buyers still want to buy but they are not going to spend like they did in 2020/2021/2022/ even 2023 there was a recession that started in 2018/2019 people can deny that all they want but that are the facts then we had the pandemic happen and under both administrations (but it was money well needed just think if we had a pandemic and Recession at the same time with NO influx of money IT WOULD Have been Horrible) we had money influx into the system now we are 1000% out of the covid era no more money being influxed and MANY of those buyers that were ON ebay during the pandemic LEFT this is fact again no matter what anyone wants to believe there what i Called Fair-weather buyers (like fair-weather friends) we are now feeling the full force of the recession and buyers will buy But as sellers we have to sell at 50% off or more if not we wont get sales its how it was in 08 during that recession if you did not go out of business (quit selling) you were selling at half off lasted 2 years the dust cleared around 2010ish so im hoping if this started in 2018/2019 we already had 1 year of the recession so im hoping 1 more year if we are lucky so hopefully the dust clears around end of 2025 early 2026 if you can sell cheap enough and hold on You will make it to the other side IF didn't buy cheap enough and your margins cant afford to sell your items at 50% off or more then you might be quitting soon that is why you make your Money on the BUY and why it is so important to get your inventory NO matter what you sell as close to $0 as possible FREE is preferred :)

Make sure to let the Breville oven dry for a day or two after cleaning. Moisture will cause it to short out your GFI sockets. You may also experience glitches with the control panel due to moisture on the circuit board. Running the machine on high heat will often fix these issues.

Hi John, Jeff in Odesa again... just saw your vid first time in a while, while listing, and I tell you it ain't the economy, it's ebay. We sell the same exact things on ebay and etsy, same prices, etc., and Etsy went from being 40% of sales to 75% in one year. I have two shops in each, and its the same across all of them... I think ebay, when your stuff shows up in search ads, just puts people off coz of the long history of scammers there!

Your returns might be affecting you in the algorithm especially since it seems quite a few of them are INADs. I haven't had an INAD on my account in over a year but my return rate is around 5.5% (all fit or remorse returns) and I feel like these drag me down too even though they aren't technically counted against me. I've been trying to get my return rates down this year with little success. Probably just a part of selling NWT clothing.
@zachariah71142 ай бұрын
I sell clothing too and most of my returns are due to size. Short of making sure the customer read the measurements we provide, I don’t know how else to lower that defect rate. Like you said even if it’s not counted against your account, getting a return does feel like a defect of sorts. I’ve recently gone as far as putting the measurements at the beginning (width/length in one photo) and sticking them at the end too for extra redundancy. And of course, mention the measurements and ask people to check them

@@FlippinAintEasy i dont think the economy has nothing to do with it. I agree with the way you worded it . Ebay is definitely interferring , but perhaps they have to be a bit heavy handed due to less money being spent so " rolling blackouts " hit harder. I just hate when people tell me it doesnt exist . When you do a minimum of 200$ a day for a month and a half then BAM 12 dollar day followed by a 9 dollar day then a shutout , its obvious it isnt organic

@sfarmertoo, the current economic climate is undoubtedly a significant factor. In my experience working in grocery and bookkeeping for side hustles over the past few years, we have observed a notable increase in the return of non-sale items and a substantial rise in complaints regarding pricing and the scarcity of coupons. Additionally, customers frequently misinterpret coupon terms and conditions. These observations suggest that consumers are being more cautious with their spending due to the escalating cost of living and the recent surge in grocery prices. Notably, the return rate has experienced a significant 60% increase compared to previous years, although it has recently shown signs of stabilization. The stabilization shopping at Dollar Tree for food and then name brands.
