Hands-especially the active hands of women-appear frequently in the works of Mary Cassatt. This panel brings together curators and conservators to discuss how hands are both depicted in and connected to the making of Cassatt's art. In particular, the group will discuss how preparing for the exhibition Mary Cassatt at Work sheds new light on the artist’s working methods.
Panelists:
Laurel Garber, The Park Family Assistant Curator of Prints and Drawings
Jennifer Thompson, The Gloria and Jack Drosdick Curator of European Painting and Sculpture and Curator of the John G. Johnson Collection
Teresa Lignelli, The Aronson Senior Conservator of Paintings
Thomas Primeau, The Charles K. Williams, II, Senior Conservator of Works of Art on Paper
